Would You please Read This

It has been brought to my attention that i may be over posting in your requests for parts on this forum, this is by replying in your post, letting you all know that i have products available that may benefit you and the price we charge for them.

The last thing we want to do as a company, is to upset anybody on this forum or the club in general, so i thought it best to ask you all, if you wish this to continue as it may be deemed as ambulance chasing.

Please post any comments negative or positive you have below and we will take any action necessary to make sure we don’t not upset you in any way.

Many Thanks

Although i no longer own my GTO, when i did and i put a post on here asking about various problems/upgrades etc I welcomed people like yourself and amber placing a post saying you had the part i was looking for

What it meant was that I did not have to send various posts to different companies for availabilty and prices

It saved alot of time and I found it helpful

After all just because you post does not mean I have to buy from you/amber etc

same here, ambulance chasing is not a bad thing if your offering discount to what it would normally cost from Mitsubishi. if another trader can match or beat your price then they should also post so the member gets the best price possible.

p.s. you dont do BMW part do you

Nee nah-Nee nah… I don’t have an issue Rob, an offer is an offer. Information is information.

your not forcing anybody to buy off you just giving them an option, nothing stopping them serching elsewhere. Keep it up.

competative pricing is what we all need, how gutted would you be if you payed a lot more for a part, also you can compare prices and products.

what James said

Ditto.

I see nothing wrong with the way you conduct your business, keep it up.

I’m totally new to owning a GT3000TT so all the help & pointing in the right direction is a godsend to me… 8)

Rob, as far as I’m concerned please carry on with business as usual. You have been of tremendous help to me ever since I bought my GTO, and have saved me a fortune to boot.

As many other members have already said, your posts offering parts are there as an offer of help, nothing more, and people are free to take you up on them or not. I find it amazing that someone may be complaining

Best regards,
Steve

ambulance chasing  what a load of ■■■■■■■■

i agree with J@mes on this one

Rob in the majority of posts were people are after parts i more often than not recommend you when i post.

That must make me an ambulance driver then.

Rob you keep doing what you are doing , i for one can’t see a problem with it.
There really are some issues with this club at the moment again what with back biting and the like, yes i know i had the hump over julians post but i explained these circumstanes in a pm and in all reality it was me being tetchy  …

Craig

In terms of my own personal view, I think that it’s great that we have traders on the GTOUK forums, for a number of reasons;

  1. The trade sections give GTOUK club members and forum users an easy reference to find sources of parts and services, and read other peoples experiences with them.

  2. They provide an easy method for users of the forums to see what offers there are. How many people keep up to date with offers on various parts suppliers websites? When our club traders advertise their special offers, discounts and new products in their forum areas, they get people’s attention, and therefore owners are always up date with the latest offers available to them.

  3. The GTOUK traders contribute a considerable ammount of cash to the club’s funds each year. Membership fees would need to be about 10% higher to maintain the same quality of club if we didn’t have traders contributing financially.

  4. By having parts suppliers and service providers involved on the forum with the club members, it means that any gaps in the market for products that are in demand, can be easilly identified and filled. People demand quality products, and sometimes custom parts from one model of these cars, won’t directly fit onto our Japanese and/or European models - hence our parts suppliers then looking to get custom parts made specifically for our model varients.

  5. Having specialist garages on here, means that when a trend of faults starts to emerge, we tend to find out sooner rather than later. It also means that when people start asking for particular services (one that springs to mind is specific pre-winter checks), our garage traders tend to listen to these needs and advertise services and prices to suit a market need.

So, I personally think that having traders on GTOUK is extremely beneficial to all involved. Cheaper prices, a wider range of products, more model specific parts variety, importers of hard to find parts, suppliers of popular specialist services and a good knowledge base of technical expertise - clearly something the club would be bonkers to get rid of.

It is also worth noting though, that GTOUK and the forum it has created, has one primary purpose - to provide a place for fellow club members to discuss car, technical and social matters with each other, and from time to time people like to be able to have a discussion about what parts to get, and where from, without having to read a sales pitch in the thread.

Obviously this is my own view, and a view that others have shared with me in the past at meets. As Rob will no doubt tell you though, there are no guidelines on what someone can and can’t do once they’ve paid their fees for a trader forum and/or a banner advert. I suppose it’s a little ironic really, that a club that was formed by the members, for the members, has more restrictions on what the members can and can’t post, or display in their signatures, or sell on the forum, than companies who are invited to trade on the forum with the members. Clearly though, if people did feel that there needed to be some form of guidance on the standards expected on here, this is neither the time nor the place to discuss it - the AGM or the club issues section of this forum would be the best place for such discussion.

As I say though, I can’t imagine anyone wanting our traders to stop being an active part of the club scene, or stopping advertising their goods and products - after all, that’s what all the individual company forum sections are all about! Maybe you should name and shame Rob?

Steve
