Dyno Day 2015

Thanks everyone for a great day, I just got back safe and sound although the clutch slips a little more than it did before I left. haha, it’s been on it’s way out for a year now so I think ben just expedited it a little quicker than I wanted. haha

I got 293.4 HP which I think is very respectable. I swear it would have been more if my clutch wasn’t slipping.

A big thanks to @gavin_naish for organising this, what a great day. Managed the long journey down no mishaps along with the more confident drive home, pulled a 302BHP on stock RESULT

Thanks to everyone, what a great day. It was nice to catch up and also meet some new faces. Pleased that the Womble got 500 even if it was by the skin of it’s teeth.

Are you still on 13ts @aGTOis4lifenot4chris ? if you are that is definitely the 500 bhp record broken on 13ts

Craig

Edit just read your not anymore

Glad to see everyone had a good day. Sorry I couldn’t be there. Turns out I am in Abu Dhabi on the one day it will rain this year! Not impressed. Some good results coming up here from the heart breaker!

Well… made it home ok in the end - slight mishap on the dyno … My MAP sensor was failing and as a result did have a little boost overshoot to 32psi (2.2 Bar)

I think that killed it …

Made it to the M25 ROUNDABOUT and it gave up… typical!

Fortunately there were still people around at Eurospec and a call to @benh they dispatched their highly trained crack task force to recover myself (and @GSXRKID) to the HQ

Quick Vac check confirmed I’d blown the Sensor, and running speed density its rather important! Managed to cobble together a working solution and drove home with zero events - ran, drove and performed fine so happy with that one.

Graph is a bit truncated due to the car locking everything up waiting for the boost to reach its (set) 19psi… and running out of fuel at 32psi. On the very plus side, there does not appear to be any boost leaks! Seems making sure all the pipes have a rolled bead on the end and mikalor clamps all round.

Power was just under 450 at 4500rpm, I dont seem to have the corrected figures to hand. I’ll be back with a proper tune and hopefully a working sensor soon

I do have a sheet with mine vs @gavin_naish and they are along the same lines, i’ll scan that one soon. The PRM intercooler does not appear to be affecting spool

Overall a great day and it was good to put names to faces - good turnout everyone! Usually i’m the one walking around with a camera, however this time there were a few others already there so i’ll let them post up

Have a few videos of those who ran, i’ll edit / upload them soon!

Thanks again Gavin for arranging this!

Thanks Gavin for a good day even though run with no boost for a proper read out, but was better than when run it with the old engine…good to see everyone and meet new faces…good to hear wasn’t anything serious with your car Paul and glad you made it back across the border before it closed…lol

Think Rob was more worried than I !

Yep, I’ll be back on there again soon to get some more out of it - the graph was still climbing before running out of fuel

looking good Ivan, glad to see your getting good power! just need to sort that fueling out and you will get some real good gains.

Paul

sounds like you had some fun there @paullloyd where are you running out of fuel? Pump or inj?

mine ran out of fuel at the pump when pushing 550 on the dyno. so i swapped the Supra 310 for the Walhbro 450, now i have plenty left

Glad to see the rebuild is running well with the exception on the Map sensor…

Paul

With the MAP sensor out it … erm, was running 32psi! Will reel it back in to 20-22 an see where that gets me. Kinda glad i did run out of fuel else the engine would have been toast ! Running Tesco Momentum only atm

Yeh, I am currently running a supra pump, have to bare that in mind soon!

Paul

Yeah was kinda weird actually both separalty built and tuned on different sides of the UK yet the dyno graphs were almost identical, up until the point where your car stopped and mine kept going, and that you were running bigger tubs… See now that would make a pretty cool drag race. Got some work to do then it’s back on!!!
