Get well soon Boo

Sorry to hear of your accident Boo :frowning:
Hope u get well soon.

Firstly ide like to thank everyone for there kind words. I must admit I was hopeing to be home by now but unfortunately its not to be. I fell about 15 feet into a concrete pit the impact has crushed my ankke to the point its looking like being un repairable so I am hopeing the specialist will just freze it n let me get on. I also snaped my knee in half at the femur this has been screwed back in place but due to the time between having the acident and the first op I was on morpheine and this after a few days had an adverse affect and I became very ill getting better by the day. Now and missing my wife and the girls n grandkids madly. Again thank you all for your thought. Boo

Sorry to hear this Dave. Wishing you a speedier recovery. Thinking of you.

Dani & Jonno

Thinking of you and your family

Good to hear from you Boo . Hopefully they can sort your ankle , which is going to be difficult after the previous injury but you know what can be done after Charlies op .

When your up to it give me a shout

Craig

hello all. well its been a while hopefully this yr I will come along to some of the meets . april the 1st I went in to have the damaged leg amputated as it didn’t work for me after the op,s to fix the breaks it left me unable to walk properly so I asked the surgeons to amputate as I felt ide be more mobile with a prosthetic wich they agreed . so I got home on Tuesday now starts the long process of rehab and fitting with a prosthetic and learning to walk again again thanks to all for the kind wishes in the past

All the Best Boo,

Doesn’t sound fun at all but know why you took the option you did. Ive asked the too take my left leg off and they refuse even after 3 failed Op’s :frowning:

Btw, when you ready for GTO’s again I can build you a nice Twin Turbo Auto with proper paddle shifts too

Regards
Elton

All the best mate hope you have a quick recovery.

Blimey matey! so sorry to read this tragic turn of events. hopefully its for the best and you will recover quickly.

Paul

thanks paul and Elton ive heard you had good results with a turbo n/a . didn’t know you had trouble with your leg,s to clarify my circumstances I was left with a frozen ankle and a knee that didn’t let my leg straighten so walking was virtually impossible it was agreed that amputation was the best option to allow me to walk properly again but finding a surgeon to do the op was the reason its taken so long as I have a femoral nail in place for the past 30 yrs and the problem was once the femur was cut they may not be able to remove the nail and finding a surgeon able to cut the nail in place was the crux of the problem but fortunately mr skinner at the RNOH Stanmore was confident he had the equipment to deal with the problem and as it turned out this was the case so the solid stainless steel rod was indeed cut in place . the op went really well apart from the cannula in my spine for the epidural failed over night and I woke with no pain relief early morning so they put me on morphine into the back of my hand on a self administering pump (that’s was an interesting half hr ) apart from this it was amazingly good I was out side having a fag in 2 days and as a surprise my brother flew in from America where he lives and spent 4 days with me and was home in 6 days
phantom pain is amazingly painful but hopefully this will subside with time. now im looking forward to starting the physio and I should start the prosthetic process in around 6 weeks post op . so that’s me at this moment in time again thank you all for your kind messages .

Doesnt sound nice at all, but I guess as the saying goes
‘onwards and upwards’ from here. I agree totally with your mentality of rather having a prosthetic that works than your own one that would have been a constant source of pain and grief. Takes a strong person to make the choice, one many wouldnt have been able to do.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery
:sunglasses:

thanks Elton ide love to have a read through what you did to the auto turbo and how it came out . that’s if you did a write up regarding the car ?

Edited as Off Topic.

:sunglasses:

Thanks for the info elton . That must have taken some serious investigation to sort the ecu out . Tbh its very unlikely I will ever have another gto after having the 2 but that said you never know. ide like to stay with the club as I feel it has a very good community and I have struck up some very good friendships with some club members. Once my claim is sorted and I’ve got a new toy I will be attending some meets so you never know we may bump into eachother at some point.
Thank you for taking the time to post a reply.
