Bad news though - the trusty Honda broke down on the way home .
Ended up sat on the hard shoulder, just on a slip road, for a couple of hours whilst I waited for the AA to come and sign me up to their service and recover me. I had forgotten my mobile today, so didn’t have any way to let Becky know where I was or when I’d be home.[/quote]
M8!!!
I really wish I’d taken my night driving glasses I might have actually seen you on the hard shoulder…as it was I could barely see the car in front!
The AA sign-up & recover option is pretty handy, I think the RAC do something similar. Hopefully you still made it home in time for your quiet drink with the lads!
Not sure what it is with the Yorkshire Meet but I had a bizarre experience last month while driving home on the small section of Motorway that joins the M18. In the distance I could see the vague outline of what appeared to be a small deer or foal running towards me. As I got closer I realised it was large greyhound running at pace…I wouldn’t have minded but he out dragged me coming off the roundabout!
…only joking, I was genuinely worried for it’s wellbeing but what can you do on a Motorway…you can’t really stop and try call it over?!?
…fingers crossed it made it off safely!
Anyway good company and very good grub…I love that sizzling peppered steak!
See you all in the New Year and if I don’t say it in the interim “Merry Xmas” to one and all!
Sorry I couldnt make it, Dave was in hospital and I had to work anyway.
Sorry to hear about your car troubles Steve, just a word of advice, stop going to car meets, the last one you went to, u blew your GTO up  no im sorry, whats up with the Prelude?
