I’ve not attended any club meetings since joining (2004!!). Now a fully paid up member, so as I have a need to get some technical help with my own 3000GT, I will attend, and I look forward to meeting the faces of the names that are familiar to me.
Do I just pole up and present my GTOUK membership card, or do I have to cross someone’s palm with silber?

There is an entrance fee for the event itself…can’t remember exactly how much though!
If you wanted to run the car down the 1/4 then there is a fee for that also.
Just park up where you see the other GTO’s/3000GT’s.(if there are any when you get there! )
My PB was in my n/a 13.719, my new std TT aint gonna go that fast, but I will be happy with a sub 14 second for this my first outing, but trust me  Watch this space 8)
Well just myself & Marty running, with Marty’s mate Simon & my eldest Jason for spectators, my first run & bear in mind I have never done this in a manual before ( my n/a was auto 8) ) first run was 14.8, 2nd was 14.5, 3rd was 14.3, & my last run was 14.2, but I did by now have a burning clutch & it was slipping on launch so decided to abort any more runs, clutch is fine now its cooled down, but would need a new one if I wanted to go again, I did beat Marty on my first 3 runs but to be fair his car was not running anything like it should, but will relish in my glory whilst I can He did do a 14.0 something to pip me at the end, forgot to take any piccies cos we were having so much fun, could not have been a better day, bit foggy to start but the sun came out to see us & it ended up very hot ( just like my clutch )

I said we would be pretty evenly matched
Car has an overfueling problem, but this wasn’t evident with the other ECU fitted, so going to try a different ECU.
More likely though it’s to do with the way the fuel pump is hotwired. I was unable to wire it up as I would have liked when moving the battery to the boot, and this meant I couldn’t use the fuel pump resistor. I’m running a standard FPR, so as I queue up for the line, it’s running rich. Then she stumbles down the track, and never quite seems to clear properly.
It’s definately affecting the times
It’s not serious, and easily recified, as I now have the under bonnet +ve I needed to do it properly.
Nice day out and it’s a really good event for running and spectating.
Nice times there Julian…is that still a totally stock TT you ran ? I know you waiting to fit EBC still. Nice improvement on the times too…caught up 0.60 of a second over the 4 runs  . What helped improve so fast.better launches and gear changes ? My first timeout i ran 4 consistent 13.82, 13.83, 13.84 ,13.83 and then a really bad 14.5 or something due to a huge bog down off the line and a missed 3 rd gear
Let me know when you going next as i would love to join ya and have a go on a level ■■■■■■ strip unlike uphill Santa Plod, plus i learnt the hard way how to setup my boost controller  . Should be a good crack.

Cheers Dell,
Got some serious catching up to do though  , TBH I’m not in that league at all. I just want something a little faster than most and i will be happy. Got my 13t’s to go on and a few other bits and bobs than I’m done.
Hope to get in the high 12’s and then I’ll call it a day. But yes i was happy with the high 13’s first time ever on a strip.

De-cat & hks induction, other than that its as stock as they make em, first run I missed third gear  , second was a bit better gear wise, then I started to alter my launch, more revs & wallop the clutch out, thats when it started to slip  25th of October is the one I would like to go to but only if I have a new clutch by then & my Greddy boost controller fitted
