2Fast 2Furious and American Muscle Aug 18th.2007

More info to follow

From now until the show day itself I will post further information as needed… but first as this will most lightly help those that may have some distance to travel if wishing to attend the show… is over night accommodation…

CAMPING and OVER NIGHT STAYS…

Last year saw a number of GTO members entering their cars most of which requesting a place to camp over for 2 or 3 nights…

This year I have obtained permission from the Ashington Festival Committee and the owners of the ground the show is held on for camping to be allowed on the show ground on the Nights of…

Friday 17th. and Saturday 18th. with if requested the possible option for Sunday 19th. to also be allowed should any one wishes to make a long weekend of it…

There is no Camping ground charge… but holds 3 stipulations we must abide by…

1… There are no camp fires as the grass it to receive little to no damage over the show weekend…

2… All camping equipment is taken down before cars start turning up for the show on the day…

3… No load music is to be played late at night…

If you wish to stay at a B&B or small Hotel then PM me for a list of what places are close by…

Remember the car show as well as other entertainment is totally FREE… you will only spend out on anything purchased from any of the trade stalls… food and drink… and any thing you go on at the fairground…

Just thought I’d post the write up thats been placed on other sites over the net…

This the 4th. “ 2 Fast 2 Furious and American Muscle “ custom car show and is held on and part
of the Ashinton Festival in Sussex

Is FREE to enter your motor into the show…
as well as FREE entry for those wishing to view cars on display…

The show ground is easy to find and is held within the grounds of the Ashington Community
Sports Center… Vehicle show ground entrance is through the Sports Center car park …

Ashington is just a short 8 mile trip up the A24 North of Worthing approximately 1 mile North
of Washington Roundabout and if traveling from Brighton can be shortened by taking the
Steyning road North of Shoreham, turning North toward Horsham for a mile when reaching
Washington Roundabout…

Road signs will be place around local roads during the night before the show to help guide you…

Please note the information displayed at the bottom of the poster which will inform you of the
times that the main road through Ashington will be closed due to the Carnival Procession… as
well as the road map showing you the best direction to enter Ashington if driving a low rider…

The car show itself really kicks off when the Carnival Procession arrives at the main festival
arena so it is advisable to try and arrive before 1pm. before the main Ashington road becomes
closed for the Carnival Procession
Arriving after 1pm. or before 2:30pm. could see you having to wait as long as an hour or so to
reach the show ground itself…

Due to the fact that “ 2 Fast 2 Furious and American Muscle “ custom car show is not a profit
making show and we have every intention to trying to keep it FREE for owners to display their
cars… we do not judge or give awards for best show cars at this present time… but believe the
show gives you a chance to show and share with others your hard work and passion for motors…
and a chance to get together with other like minded piston heads.

I look forward to seeing you there…

Other information will be posted during the weeks leading up to the show date.

This could bring an end to many a car show so please do join in and sign the petition…

Banning/restricting cars over 10yrs old. This is on the .gov website too.

“Several EU proposals across the years are dangerous to the classic car movement. One that has been under consideration is to ban the use of cars older than 10 years. Similarly, Edinburgh City Council is considering the banning of cars over 15 years old from the town centre. These, and
similar, proposals directly threaten the classic car movement, and encourage the manufacture of new cars, with the attendent environmental issues of sourcing raw materials, manufacturing, distriuting and scrapping the spiralling supply of new vehicles.”

You’ll be banned from using the roads and only allowed to take the vehicle out having obtained PRIOR consent from your local council… I.e youd have to plan your route in advance and inform the council for approval who may then decline the whole thing or certain aspects like perhaps if you wish to pass through a city centre etc

Its a shame this clashes with another American car show at Billing, as I would have attended it with our Trans-ams, but were going to Billing now.

Hope the weather is good for your show.

Vicky

Hi Vicky… may be next year then

Well just a week away till the car show now…

I was wondering if any one is coming with intentions of camping over night ?..

would be helpful to have some idea of numbers along with what nights they wish to stay ?

If any guys are meeting up to come down together this year like last and want space for all to
show cars together then number of car spaces needed to be together would also be helpful…

Thanks guys… look forward to seeing you there

Just to say it has been confirmed we shall also be seeing a number of motors use in due to be
released feature film “ Dolphins “ a British Fast and Furious movie…

Some “ Top Gears “ football cars are also booked to be part of the show…

I look forward to seeing those that can make it on Saturday…
