31st may 2009 london to brighton charity drive

On sunday the 31st of may i am setting up a convoy. It will start from thurrock services, going into london and down to brighton.

I would like this event to be open to all jap cars as i feel its an important event and its all for a worthy cause.

There will be a min fee for the convoy with all proceeds going to the macmillan cancer support charity. The min donation will be £5 per car which can be paid on the day, after which you will recieve a map.

This event is in the planning stages at the moment, so exact times are to be confirmed, just trying to get some idea of how many would be up for this. If any of you are on other forums, please feel free to spread the word.

thurrock is only round the corner, not sure where brighton is but i’ve heard of it so why not, count me in.

News on event i have spoken to Jo Osborne, Events Officer at Brighton Council which has ok the day at brighton

latest update had a ok from the highway and the venue department from the brighton council and had a tel call from the met ploce sgt phil loader has given me the a ok i have also got a letter from the sussex police just double checking with the brighton council but looking very good

so it looks like a bugh goahead for this event i hope to see lots of you on the big day

This looks great, Im really up for this one…but I may have run out of funds for Jollies by then. If I have enough for the v power its a great cause too!

Just getting my mapping hat on and wondering about the actual route to Brighton. It doesn’t make sense for me to go to Thurrock from W. London, so I’ll meet up at an intermediate place if that’s ok
Is there a published route for this shin-dig? I presume we’re routing non-motorway??
Any info you have greatly appreciated,

i can now confrim the route is done and the final stop is dine we are finishing at brighton rugby club

also stickers and tshirts will be on sale on the day i cant confirm prices yet but do look sweet all the stickers have been made by lex @ Ace image uk

im hoping to sort other stuff but i cant confrim that ?

We’ll see you en-route. Thurrock is the other side of town to us. We’re gonna head around the M25 anti-clock to meet you wherever you start going South?

Could you let me know the route you’re gonna take and approximate timings, and we’ll hook up with you wherever is best.
Add another Jap to the list, my son Stuart in his Evo 4…

Anyone know the route for this?
Despite obvious thoughts of M25/M23 etc etc, can anyone who’s going on this shed any light on the actual route.
We are planning to join the convoy somewhere. Meeting up at Thurrock for us is not going to be sensible in terms of distance etc, because we’re on the other side of town.

So, if anyone knows…(and I’ve pm’d Wesley already, to no avail), please let me know, ta.
If I don’t hear anything more, then I’ll take the second amendement :cry:
