3rd Scottish Meeting

Briliant day out guys, thanks again…Chooch and I met in Aberdeen at 9.30 this morning, I managed to wake up Mrs sspeiper in case sspeiper was going to manage (ooppss). We drove down at a sedate pacr mainly because of my hangover from a friends birthday party and only getting to bed at 03.30! But also its a Max Power event day at Crail and the police were on the prowl!
We met Andy and John in Perth and then took a nice drive up through Pitlochry village centre, a nice sight and sound from 4 GTOs and a busy little village, to Scotts family caravan.

Thanks to Scott and Linda for cooking all that food and making us drink odd coloured Tango that looked like the stuff you get at the dentist!

I think we have convinced Scott to mend his GTO and maybe even look for a TT next!

Johns alloys are now looking good, Andys huge wing is growing on us now, my howling on full boost is a bit concerning and Ewans exhaust smell has turned us all into GTO sniffers!

Wwe left the southern guys at the Coupar Angus turn and Chooch and I took a great blast back up te country roads at some impressive speeds in the region of the national speed limit!!!

Scott and the guys will post some pics of the day soon I think!

Preparations for the JAE are going well and we should try and meet again towards the end of June with the possability of a rolling road day!

Thanks again guys, a great day out!

Mark

I’d agree with that Mark,

But really don’t know how we all ended up sniffing exhausts!!!
I think we must have made an impression on the rest of the caravan site!!!

Many thanks to Scott and Linda for hosting this event and providing a lovely BBQ. It seems Scott has a few hidden tallents in his cooking

I tried to take a few pictures with my mobile from the back of the convoy, but they didn’t turn out :frowning:

Here’s a few that did turn out:

On way through Dundee

4 GTO’s In Convoy (without Alfa Romeo JTD nutter  )

At Caravan site

Mark’s engine bay, which seems to change each meet! Looking good.

TT owners apreciation collective

As usual a great day out. I vote that we make Scott the official chef! The homemade shish was great - thanks to Scott and Linda for the hospitality. And we found out petrol runs in the family…! It was a good drive out. Not sure how it started - just glad there are no pictures of our strange perversion. Have you checked the back seats for nesting owls yet Mark. And next time we meet I will have shiney bits fitted.

It’s cool Mark, and in waking up the wife, she then went and brought me a nice cup of tea in bed.

Got back late on Saturday, so a wee bit knackerd from travelling to and from Manchester, and the brain ache from the course.

Looks like the weather turned for the better too. Was p1ssing with rain with us most of the morning.

Fingers crossed I’ll be good for the next trip. The run to Skye for a weeked sounds a winner. Might even take the video camera and cut together some promo footage of us.

Qucik question Mark; Have you polished the sills around your engine bay?

We did discuss the chance of you shooting a road trip movie of us all doing the Skye trip…once Scott gets a GTO back on the road we can confirm numbers etc but hopefully August or early September for the Skye Tour!

I’ve done a load of cleaning and polishing under the bonnet now…still loads to do…but I have removed and cleaned up the areas onteh inner wings, rear bulkhead and front slam panel…being a silver car they left the underbonnet stuff just gloss grey but that cleans up nicely.

Its best to dismantle a lot of the small pipes and clips to get better access…I now need to replace the heat shield!

See you sometime

sorry i missed that one ihad to pick up lewis at the vw bash at biggar as his bug front end is being ahem altered to handle the new power from the back end (2lt turbo)loks like you all had a good day again i think we all have a petrol fetish or something as the same thing happened at balmedie sniff sniff
mo

I probably have to put my hand up for starting the exhaust sniffing fetish…as well as the nuns outfit…but I think the lads now agree that Ewans pipes smell a whole differant to the others…John was pretty neutral and Andys was almost fragrant despite using P Power from Shell…

It was a great day out actually and the roads and scenery around Pitlochry is ■■■■■■ lovely, haven’t been up there for a while.

Next time Mo!

i dont no about you guys but rather than put it into a garage to change the belt and things i’d rather do it myself .
