I bought a lovely TT about a year ago and was aware at the time the Active Aero wasn’t working. The front aero motor came as a spare part and the rear aero spoiler was stuck in the on position.
I found a second hand rear aero spoiler and swapped it over around 10 mins ago (it was really easy) however when I turned it on it came on and is now stuck in the on position just like the one I too off.
I’m guessing two things
1/ I’m a bit of a ■■■■!
2/ It’s a faulty switch controller.
Anyone else had a faulty switch or this issue (not the ■■■■ one, we’re all guilty of that).
It will only work with the front one working otherwise goes into fault mode
I did a manual rewire to make it go up when I want should be a pic in my project/rebuild
If you turn on the switch on the centre console, does the front spoiler go down and the rear go up? When you turn it off do they both retract? The front motor is always the culprit, but also the micro switches on the rear spoiler could be duff, have you inspected those? Easy job to do, and have a tin of grease for the tracks on the rear spoiler and there is a write up on here for both the rear spoiler and the linkage on the front spoiler, use loads of grease which the mechanism often locks due to lack of maintenance.
My rear spoiler works once up and down , the front will work once , then the areo warning light comes on ? i have hard wires the front motor it spins both ways ? what controls the spoilers ? Maybe thats up the shoot ? Are they easy to hard wire ?
There is a box on the ns boot near areal under the panel this controls the spoilers. Hard wire is a case of a specific 3 way rocker switch then back to the spoiler box to 2 live wires up/down,I was going to right this up but haven’t had time.

I had a spare active aero ecu still the same also tried 2 replacement switches it was a hell of a puzzle so did the rewire mate, switch looks almost stock it can be set into old housing after removing old switch guts…now I can wave at the lights too lol
