Adrian Flux - anyone beat them?

Been Quoted £1,400 TPFT which is pretty good for me considering:-

23 years old
3 Years no claims
CAT 1 alarm fitted no tracker
1 Speeding conviction SP50
limited to 6000 miles

know of anyone who could beat this?

just paid my insurance ready for tuesday yesterday and i paid 1347.52 fully comp and thats with me old man on it (which knocked 200 quid off) and thats with elephant, i’m 22 with 5 yrs no claims and no convictions

Adrian Flux 91 TT No Mods fully comp, protected no claims, windscreen cover , full breakdown cover, CAT 1, and one conviction SP30 £466.00, but then I’m an oldy!

Have you tried for fully comp? Most times I’ve found it cheaper on fully comp than it is TPFT.

Steve

Ill give that a try, but because of my speeding ban its pushing the price up high with most companies, but ill see what they say anyhow, thanks steve

i have a quote for £1400 fc with elephant.co.uk

21y/o
3points sp60
2yrs ncb
missus on aswel.

BUT… this is for a UK 3000gt, not an import GTO, which is what i am planning on buying. does this make much difference?

i cant ring them and ask, as i am ony 20 at the mo, and have a policy with them already. they might get funny if i start ringing up and saying i am older than i am!

james

3000gt are normally cheaper to insure, as the parts are more avaliable
( NO they are not the same car), and more people insure them , so more competition,

I wrote my GTO off last year and to reinsure a 95 GTO was £1600 but a 99 3000gt is only £850 with elephant

normal thing no logic to quotes

3000gt

i have only ever seen one 3000gt, but loadsa GTO’s! strange…

I agree the 3000GT is cheaper to insure, and there certainly does not appear to be as many on the streets. Perhaps due to the high cost when new in the UK.

As for spare parts availability I think it is myth supported by the “we can’t repair that is a grey import fraternity” Simple example Auto Glass took 10 days and 2 incorrect screens (God only knows what they were meant to fit) then told me it would take 6 weeks to get the correct wind screen. “Its a grey import mate” I phoned Mitsubishi York on Wednesday received new screen Friday of the same week. Mitsi York invoiced Auto Glass direct, job done Auto Glass embarrassed.

In the two years I have owned my GTO TT I have never had problems getting parts, perhaps I have been lucky.

Just telling it as I have found it to be

Steve

there is a few breakers about and with the amount imports coming in now you would think someone would start importing spares or fabricating their own, could be big business…

i suggested this to so many ppl when doing quotes, i mentioned the GTOUK site but they wasnt interested…sound to me like they would rather bury there heads in the sand and let the money roll in for all imports coz they know they can milk it…b%@#!*s!

…because if my car had a bad smash, I’d be over-the-moon having parts fitted to it from a scrap yard.

what i meant was: " there are a few breakers around where you can get spares (ie if u need a driveshaft etc) but someone should look at supplying insurance companies with imported parts, if you could get a constant supply of crash affected parts (like body panels, glass, wheels etc)

sorry if i didnt explain it too well first time. james

GTO or 3000GT, all the parts and components have to come from Mitsu Japan, there’s a rip off if you need one.

Mark.

Try A-Plan £ 330 tpft 24 years old and they car mirror your no claims of another car if this is your second car…
