Adrian flux

i know a lot of people don’t have a lot of time for these as they don’t want to know when you need to claim. but i got a letter from them today so thought id have a laugh

all mods declared
turbos
stand alone ecu
bigger injectors
wheels
body kit
lambo doors etc etc

29 full no claims
accident on other car but different policy declared
no points
very high risk area TS3
cat one (i offered to get tracker but they said would make no diffrence  )

now obviously iv put a lot of money in the car so didn’t want to get £2000 back if the worst happens so asked about agreed valuation. got it valued at a guaranteed £11,000.

quote price £750 fully comp with no claims protected

i am paying £760 now and that’s not agreed value. and turbos and ecu not declared as didn’t have them at the time of taking out insurance and hasn’t been on ad since fitted so don’t count.

i know there bad at paying up but they cant really wriggle out of this one and as im fully comp ill get the cash no matter what? am i correct in assuming that?

obvously ill be using this to get quotes of my current insurer A1 and sky, and id really like it covered for 15k to reflect everything iv spent on it

In response Scotty , use their quote to barter but under no uncertain terms should you be insured with them …
Many moons ago in my 205 GTI (1.9 and modded  ) I was insured thru Adrian Flux and had an RS turbo smash in to my back end and write the car off , bear in mind I also had an agreed value on my 205 as it was my pride and joy and had had a declared entire enginge rebuild …
Quick pay out ? NO!
Had to take them to court to recover my excess and get my agreed value back .
However this was 7 years ago ad they may of changed .
Josh

the policy covers hire car while waiting so they can take as long as they like  not that i intend to need it. and chances are ill go with sky if they are competitive which im sure they will be.

Yep they gave me a hire car too for a week.

Then they tried to charge me for it after a week of use as I hadnt bought another car by then … pretty difficult to do so since they took months to pay up (and wouldnt pay the proper value of the car in the end).

Adam

just got one off sky £1100

Used to have a policy with privelege which included a loan car. Only problem was that after a week they declared the car a write off and that was the end of the loan car. It then took 18months and the threat of legal action twice and even then they paid up about 20% of the vehicles actual value leaving me out of pocket by close on to £10000 by the time hire cars and other expenses had been factored in.

Insurance companies are a bunch of lawless scum in my experience to date and even the legal expenses cover isn’t worth the paper its written on.

I dont think any one company is better or worse than any other and since its a legal requirement to have insurance I would just go with the one that takes the least money out of your pocket and hope you never need to claim !

Best regards,

Damien.
