I thought all this stuff about modifying cars was going to make my insurance rocket. I called up these guys and got in for £1114 including some fairly major mods, suspension, brakes, FMIC, etc etc etc.

There worth a call, it was cheaper there with the mods than my old insurance before i started! I’m 29, have 4 Points and a nasty fine.

Ben

I used to be with them a couple of years back and I later discovered that I could of got it cheaper - and they were pretty useless when I had an accident ( not my fault - my car was parked ! )

I was insurered with my old 200SX with then - bought the GTO and upgraded the policy.
Eventually a renual came in at a stonking 1050 … made a few phone calls and eventually got it cheaper (525 ish) with Liverpool Victoria.

I wont bother to post about the accident thing - suffice to say I was displeased with the 3 months of sorting things out - the lack of hire car after only 2 weeks - and whenever I rang them to ask what was going on they never seemed to have a clue.
I did get a good price for the smashed car in the end tho - so it wasnt all bad news I guess.

Just my 2C’s worth.

Adam

My quote with them was £1600 fully comp which was by far the cheapest after many phone calls for quotes. I am 28 have no no claims and 3 active points on my licience. This certainly beats the £4207 i was quoted with tesco!

 HOW MUCH!!!

i pay £750 and i’m 25…

Ben

Thats the problem of having no no claims, most companys didnt want to know. I had three years no claims on bikes but could not transfer to cars.

Robbing bastards

Stew

Mines £1700, im 25 with 3yrs no claims (touch wood it’ll stay like this!!!). Privilege were cheaper by a bit but needed a tracker, and not just any old tat, some fancy dan 1. I rang the world to get the best price, and this was it. I have never had cheap insurance sadly, so much as i hate to say, this price isnt too bad!!!

Presume that quote was including your mods???

Thanks
Stew

Mine includes mods, though my car is only lightly salted modification wise. But insurance prices increase in %'s per % power usually and so therefore the lower the starting price the lower the overall premium.

Ben

Mines about 98% acurate on the mods. Slight as they are. I might remind them next year.

Yep, i had a fit of guilt and declared the lot, including the ‘shed items’

Ben.

(in my opinion)…THIS BUNCH OF ROBBING GOOD FOR NOWTS…the friendly, yet rob you blind approach seems to be their way of opperating!!! The classic £15 admin charge…ooooh like the 5minutes (including 2 1/2mins of hold music) it took to add a few details is representative of the hourly rate the girl at the call centre is on!!! RIGHT! This being the case i am in the wrong profession, I would take a call centre job for £180 per hour. I thought while i was on, i should declare my dump valve, a bargain at an additional £75 for 8months of the policy left!!! I think i can say i cant wait til my renewal comes round and i can ditch this lot quick smart!!

I also heard that they are all to happy to take your money but are not likely to give it back whatever the reason (alegedly)

Ben

well I just hope that situation doesnt come round then.

They are in no hurry to sort out my accident situation either…the company or rather the individual dealing with this case is most illusive indeed!!! GREAT
