Hello All,

Before Christmas some … helpful person … drove into and along the passenger side of my MK 1 GTO while the car was parked up overnight at the girlfriends and disappeared into the Christmas Night Air leaving no details. :cry: A Merry Christmas was not had !!

Insurance have now had the car and have written it off due to panel damage from the front bumper through passenger front wing passenger door and rear wing. It seems to be that the driver of the vehicle that didn’t stop may have squeezed between the GTO and another car and got it spectacularly wrong.

I will be having the car back this week and will be breaking the car over the coming weekends.

RC’s 550 Injectors, cleaned June 2012

Uprated gen 1 engine mounts.
HKS hyper muffler exhaust. ( has extra rust holes for added Lightness and authentic raspy sound :grinning: )
New front bearings fitted June 2013.
New rear bearings fitted 2007.
White faced blue light Indiglow dials to facia and 3 centre gauges.
Triple gauge pillar pod with water temp, oil temp and oil pressure gauges
White Blitz boost pressure guage
Car ran with palm pda data logger, palm logger and cabled included.
Earth grounding kit.
Replaced all speakers, 6x9 JBL rears, 6.5 JBL door, 1” Sony Tweeters front, 12” sub in boot.
Cracked front air vents replaced.
Hella MK1 Headlights
Refurbed Starter Motor
Silver GTO Sill/Door Runners
GTO quarter panel lights (will confirm condition)
Red Magnecor HT Leads
Quick release Steering wheel and 2 bosses
Other items will be added and I find them

I have already spoken to a couple of members and there is interest in some parts including engine, gearbox, FMIC, Pillar pod, boost controller,

This will be the first car I have broken so please bear with me and in the interest of fairness if you are after something please post here so others can see what is and is’t available.

Due to storage I will have to get this done in 3 weekends (before middle Feb) and then the car shifted so if you do need anything it will be sooner rather than later I’m afraid. I can hold some items longer term but not indefinitely

If anyone wants to come and remove things themselves there will be tea, biscuits and discounts available :wink:

I am based In Cardiff South Wales for those interested in collection.

That’s a shot thing to hear mate, horrible when one of these cars goes on that way!

That’s awful news :frowning: have you thought about costing it or repair? The worst part to fix would be the rear panel, but wing, door etc should be easy to get hold of :frowning:

Or buy a decent shell and transfer what you have done. I know what its like if your car has taken a knock. Every rattle etc you think something is wrong and it never feels the same. Get a decent shell and start your build again. You could still make money from selling any duplicate parts to help you out a bit on the way. Reading your build youve done far too much to throw the mechanics of it away.

Really sorry to here this mate. Some people have no respect for other peoples cars. Fair enough accidents happen but hold you hands up and admit fault. That’s what insurance is for.

I would be interested in the FMIC and pipework if you don’t already have a buyer for it and if you can post it.

Or look at getting the wide over arches if it is too much of a pig to repair to get it looking as before. Depends on how much you want to keep what youve developed. Looks like alot has gone into it

Change 'em Ali.
The lanes around here were really dark and I changed to hellas with blue tinted bulbs. Put led’s in the snake eyes too, what a difference, I can see!!!

Not good dude. Bad news and even more so the fact that it’s 1 less gto out there. Happened to me once, heard the bang and went running out to find some chav had decided to use my car as a breaking system. I seen him in the distance driving away but my car was too damaged to drive and the little **** got away…

I agree with the others here and would buy another and swap the parts over… But if you don’t I’d be interested in the 13t’s and boost controller. Pm a price if your set on breaking her… Also a price on the wheels just out of interest but funds probably won’t allow those just yet…

Hi all and thankyou for the comments.

Yes the car was doing well but it is definitely being broken. I did consider getting the work done and even swapping into another shell but as had been mentioned every like creak or knocking would have me paranoid for the rest of the time I owned it.

I had the car back today and got it parked up so I will try and reply to those who have requested prices this evening or tomorrow.

I know some parts have already been called dibs on and I will do my best to get info to people as quickly as possible.

Hello,

yes the car is definitely being broken. Heater display is in great condition. Buttons aren’t rubbed off and the screen works well and is bright. As i said only had car back today and as you can imagine have had a lot of interest so trying to get back to people where possible.

Let me confirm a few things but Heater section is good.

Yeah that would be fine. Drove the car for a bit today and had it running for 45 minutes and seemed fine.

Hello All,

Hope any of you who went to the Dyno day at Eurospec today had a good day out and got some good numbers ?

Just to keep everyone updated I’ve had quite an abrupt change in personal circumstances this weekend. They say bad luck comes in 3’s so hopefully this will be the last of it but unfortunately this means that there has to be a change of plan with the car. It is still being broken but now it will be done by Beanus and Neil (Nas). The car will be dropped off to them next weekend and they will then be able to give time scales etc. I’m sure most of you know Neil as he has been a big part of the Forum and a great help to me for the time I have owned the car

Anyone that has sent me a PM about parts I will reply to individually tonight and I will be sending PM’s that I have had over to Beanus and Neil in the order that I received them so that any ones with dibs on an item will still have dibs and there hasn’t been much in the way of duplicated requested items yet.

Really sorry to have to do this and I was looking forward to the challenge but with the news I had this weekend I just wont have the time or capacity to complete this myself.
