It will be as of tomorrow 8/11/2011 but as i said if you want to ring the hotel & still book for who ever still wants to go then you can do, it may cost a little more but thats for you to sort out with the hotel :roll:

Sad day indeed , first time since ive been in the club ive seen one of the long standing meets cancelled .
Certainly makes me wonder why i bother and also the event organisers and other comittee members bother anymore to put ourselves out .
AGM is already looking like a no go next year , might as well bin JAE aswel tbh

What do you mean craig by why you put your selves out I’m going to miss this event, is it just because it’s always same folk there and no new faces.
Numbers for the meets in recent years have been dwindling mate , as you must have seen at JAE , your another that has been a regular at the xmas meets and was just getting back into it again so youve more than put the effort into meets
Sorry to say but its been pointed out by a number of people that it seems that people dont seem interested in their own club .
I know its a ■■■■■■ hard year and for the same reason my car has sat for a good while with an empty tank , before anyone thinks its personal

I have just said exactly the same thing in a PM to Simon as to why we all as a commitee bother to put in all the effort when the majority of members dont give a toss anyway :roll: I will admit from my point of view its a work related decision 
As for the entertainment they decided to not come after i spoke to them yesterday & told them of mine & Dianes decision not to come :roll:

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to clarify a couple of things… spoke to julian yesterday after recieving a text from him on friday stating that “there were not many attending the Xmas do and he wasn’t sure about how we felt performing in front of a small number of people”
We gave Julian a call on Sunday and spoke to him about it and he explained his situation about the job and his wages, we said we would call him back and let him know what we would do as I needed to speak to the other two girls performing. we didn’t confirm that we wernt going, I think Julian has got his wires crossed (poor soul… old age lol)
If everyone else is still going and the arrangements for us are still the same as made by Julian then we will be willing to perform on 10th Dec.
I do need to know pretty soon though as I can take a job singing elsewhere on that date if im not performing there. Pete and I would still be coming.

I have just been in touch with the Hotel & they are quite happy to welcome us still, even with reduced numbers, So for all intents & purposes the Christmas Party is still on & Myself & Diane may still be there, the only request is that i need any payments not yet made to be paid by the end of this week please either by PayPal to the club PayPal account or c/q sent to me.

Right you lot that are supposed to be members of this club, as you can see, Julian has basically given you another chance to join in on an activity which is a long standing tradition.
Do you realise how soul destroying it is organising an event that given the numbers could be a blast, and then only two or three turn up.
Sometimes it even costs the club and the organiser who is doing all the running around.
I admit that I have only been to three of these christmas events myself in five years, this will be my forth so slap me but the ones that I have been to, I have had a ■■■■■■ good time.
Yes it is usually always the same faces that turn up for these events, thats because they actually care about the club and aint in it just for the ride.
I dont care how harsh some of you might think but in all fairness, if you dont want to take part in the club, then dont ■■■■■■ join.
Take a minute to think of Pete and Carol, especially Carol singing her heart out to half a dozen people of which half of them will actually be pissed as a fart or better still, think of yourself talking about something that you are really interested in to half a dozen of your mates and then having them walk away while you are in mid sentence.
So what if it clashes with another arrangement, you know it is happening every year so just once can you not allow for it, that way there just might be some different faces.
It is those that dont turn up for any events that will be the first to moan about the lack of organisation and slag off the event organaisers when they finally throw the towel in.
Ok rant over, seriously its a blast, come along and have some fun, you can even take the ■■■■ out of me for getting on my hobby horse, I get drunk too.
