Hi everyone. Im having quite a bit of trouble finding a coolant temperature sensor (ecu) for my 1991 mitsubishi gto (twin turbo). 3sx in america have them but are very expensive to ship and now with evil empire closed and euro3s not having any in stock i cant buy one with very much confidence. I have looked elsewhere online and finding super cheap ones from the company lucas. I would much prefer an oem quality sensor… can anyone help?
Many thanks
Nathan

Both about £40, with £15 shipping. No duties or taxes to pay on anything coming into UK under £135.
Assuming being an early car your sensors are in the bottom of the radiator.

Hi pal. Thank you. Both bottom radiator sensors have been replaced. Its actually the water temperature sensor below the thermostat housing need. I will post a picture with this message. Thanks again ![]()
Then you need;
MD149338 which is about £35 plus shipping.
Theres also a Mitsubishi OEM part 1308A012 which is much cheaper, of which you can also find aftermarket versions of like Lucas on eBay UK.

You sir are a hero. Thanks very much for your help. ![]()
I am rebuilding a GTO Mk2,the front end putting condenser and radiator back.
I do not have a lead that connects to the two temperature sensors in the radiator. The only lead I can not allocate is a three connection plug. Is there a lead from this that connects to the temp sensors?May be I have lost it as it’s been a year since I removed the radiator.
Any advice well help.
Is it the same radiator and fans that you took out of the car? There are wiring and connector differences between Mk1 and Mk2 cars.
No the radiator is from a MK1 with two temp sensors. Does the MK2 wire loom only have wires for one sensor?
I’ll have to check again, but my mind is telling me that the Mk2 engine loom wiring has connectors at either side of the radiator. The Mk1 radiator I think uses a 6 pin connector at the fuse box side (to control both fans) and the Mk2 has a four pin at that side and another 3 or 4 pin connector at the other (nearside.)

On Mk1 cars, the rad fan is controlled by temp sensors in the rad, on the later cars it is ECU controlled via a sensor in the water distribution housing, so no sensors in the bottom of the rad.
Thanks for the information, it’s so useful.I have the manual but I think it only shows MK1 wiring.
So where is the water distribution housing.? I can see the thermostat housing but no sensor
