Bumpety bump, just reminding people this is THIS SUNDAY - the more the merrier
Guys, I was planning on doing a race gas run. Are there any ‘rules for the day’ like pump gas only or no water / meth?
André
I’m afraid i won’t be coming on sunday now, my exhaust has sheered on the back section! arghh!
Guys, I’m gutted!
My car was due to be mapped today with new heads and 280 degree cams.
On doing a compression test it was found to be 100 on all of the front 3 and 70,0,140 across the back!
So unfortunately I won’t be able to do the dyno day as the heads need to go off for testing so we can get to the root of the problem.
Sorry guys
André

OOOOO dont sound to good matey!!!
hope its not too bad!!!
Paul
As it turns out it’s not as bad as it sounds. A leak down test with the rockers removed gave good results. This points towards the problem existing somewhere between the new 3rd gen lifters being incorrect length, incorrect base circle on the new 280 degree cams or the valve stems being longer than normal. It could of course be a combination of these too.
1st test will be a leak down with my old 2nd gen lifters in.
2nd test will be a leak down with stock cams
If it proves to be the valve stem length I might have to go with grinds rather than billet cams and use the shimming to even everything up.
This all needs to be done regardless of which short block and which turbos I will be using. The real question is how long the testing takes. If it is too long it might just be worth going straight for the stroker and leave the td04 all time record for someone else to push below 10.5 seconds.
Either way, nothing is broken and that can only be a good thing eh?
André
As it stands at the moment I think I will mosey on down for some dyno action tomorrow.
Cheers
James
Oh i See … i wonder hmmm

I’m still going to try to pop down.
André

What a great day!! This was my first dyno day so didn’t know what to expect really. Next time I’ll definitely be bringing mine. Thanks to all involved in organising this, I’ll post a few pics up later.
