Dyno Day at Eurospec at 9/01/11 11:30

I was doing some benchmark testing and came up with:-

I actually dropped power from my previous run back in July when I had 331 AWHP and 445 FlyHP. However my intakes temps are significantly better after rearranging some pipework. Today I only saw 30 C (assuming that the thing was actually connected) versus something like 45 last time. So even though my power was down that may well have been a function of temperature correction.

Anyhow it is quite clear to me that the tossers who built my exhaust, Powerflow in St Albans, thought that a 2 or 2.5 inch pre silencer restriction would be a good idea. When all it does is strangle my power - quite obviously. I only noticed this recently but have been running with this exhaust for around 4 years.

Anyhow a damn good day with some nice numbers all round. I feel rejuvanated (?) and reinvigorated and a little bit more motivated now. So thanks to all concerned!

James

I had a great day too, I saw a 54hp increase so I was well chuffed. I know I’m nowhere near the big boys, but im more than content with my result. Can those that took pics post them up, in all the fun I left my camera on the back seat

I like the new signature pic Alan

Well, we had a nice day down at Eurospec. I put my car on the dyno in Feb 2009 and got these results:

I got these results now:

No loss of power in 2 years and about 20,000 miles,on an engine that has done 115,000 miles and been abused by Benh drag racing and myself.
I am well chuffed.

Jeez that’s the closest repetition of results I have ever seen!

Well maintained car I would say.

André

Very well maintained by Eurospec.

Didn’t take many but here are my snaps:-

James

Lovely looking Pearl 99 there Andre!!! 8)

Always love a bit of dyno action, shame i wasn’t there :frowning: Next time guys!!!

Paul

Thanks for the compliment Paul.

André

I was eyeing up your spoiler Andre, its a nice change from the usual mk4 but compliments the front well. What is it?

Thanks Allen

It’s a Veilside EC-1. Some call it a Marmite spoiler, you either love it…

Ben hates it and calls it a Veilslag! LOL

André

Haha, not my cup of tea either to be honest (Vileside  ) But then I really like the hoop spoiler which most people don’t like either. The 99 front end and pearl white is fantastic though!!

Staff

certianly looks the business, in pearl white, must be the only 99 spec pearl white GTO in the country. obviously with the power to match…

BAZ Nice to see you again VJ must come next time You slid off was it her indoors. Best wishes Phillip (Silver Surfer)

Thanks guys

Should have the power SOON!

André

Well that clinches it. I have been debating on whether or not to do the Mk4 conversion on mine, but that picture tells me it will look amazing.

Beautiful car (the one in the pics), and I like the spoiler!

Thanks, definite divided opinion but I like it and I’m the one who has to drive it. God, if we all liked exactly the same things, how boring would that be though?

André

Love the spoiler, the white really works

Neil.
