European Meet

Some real cheesy rock anthems there Al, love it!! I’ve got a very bizarre and varied taste in music so I would go for among others…

Jamiroquai - White knuckle ride
Machine head - Old
Prodigy - Skylined
John Williams - A duel of fates
Red Hot Chili Peppers - all of Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Megadeth - all of Youthanasia

Oh I can’t wait to get home and start loading up the USB sticks now!!

I’ve got information of the restaurant we’ll be eating in on teh day of the meet. It looks pretty good:

http://restaurant-le-reef.com/

It’s about 100yds from where we’re meeting so we can walk there from the car park. We’ve arranged for a security company to look after the cars while we’re eating too so we don’t have to worry about that.

I’ll put more details up in the next couple of days.

Not long now…!!!

i like to wish you i grate trip , sorry iwe cant make it this time hopefully next year, any way have a safe trip. simon

Cheers Simon, it’s a shame you can’t make it this time but like you say, hopefully the next one. There’ll be plenty of pics to wet your appetite

Staff

Just incase anyone wasnt aware

http://shop.theaa.com/content/driving-in-europe

Yep, all sorted. Most of mine is left over from when I did my last Europe trip. Do we still need GB stickers even if you’re wearing Euro plates??

No buddy if you have GB on the new style euro plates then you wont need the GB stickers

We have a final plan for the day now and it goes like this:

09:30-10:30 – Arrive at the venue and meet and greet with all attendees from all 5 countries

  • Please make sure you have fuel before arriving as we will be going on a guided of Agde and the convoy will not be able to stop for anyone to refuel.

11:00-12:00 – We have a police escort to guide us around Agde to see all the sights

  • We will all need to sign a “charte de bonne conduite”. This just says that each individual is responsible for his/her own actions.

12:00-13:00 – We return to the car park for more discussions and photograophs

13:00-15:00 – We go to eat at a local restaurant to experience some traditional French cuisine

  • We have booked a local security company to look after our cars while we dine
  • The website for the restaurant is http://restaurant-le-reef.com/
  • See menu below

15:00-18:00 – We return to our cars for a final chat and farewell.

Any news on the menu yet Staff?

Woke up this morning feeling like my skull is too small for my brain, seems I’ve picked up a virus - cold/flu/fever etc. Being the ‘bloke’ about it and moaning continuously that I’m dying. I just hope it passes by Thursday or it will be a really uncomfortable drive down. cough cough

Oh man!! I hope you get better soon Al. I’m a firm believer in Lemsip Max and a wicked strength coffee every 4 hours on the dot. You’ll be right as rain in a couple of days. I’ll chase Yves for the menu today, I’ve not done much with the meet this weekend as I’ve been on a particularly messy stag weekend in Bournemouth!!

I’ll let you know as soon as hear anything

Just wanted to wish you guys the time of your lives on your road trip. I’ll be with you in spirit.

Mandy

Thanks Mandy. Hopefully you can come along next year…?

Al, Yves spoke to the restaurant and they are more than happy to do a vegetarian and kids menu (for Grace) but they will give you a choice of what’s fresh on the day. Vegetarian menu is cheaper too

Thanks Mandy, I’ll be sure to take plenty of pics.

Cheers Staff, that’ll keep her happy. I suppose I better start thinking about packing some stuff together. It’s finally here!

I know, Ilana has all of hers and Grace’s stuff all neatly laid out ready to load in the car, I’ve kind of though about what I should bring with me and have only just put wheels on the car!!

Its with deep regret guys that i have to bow out of this, absolutely gutted but it seems japfest was one trip too many for her. got some issues that now need sorting, and just wouldnt be safe to make it to dover never mind south france!! sorry to let you guys down after all the hard work yous put in. :frowning:  :frowning:
