I went through Adrian Flux last year and with full NCD and protected policy last years premium was £1500 and this years renewal landed on the door last week and was £1400. The policy was underwritten by Highway.
This is on a 92 GTO and limited to 5000 miles per year !
I have declared my mods but none of these really give much of an increase in power so dont see why the premium is so high.
I havent shopped around yet but last year only Adrian Flux and Norwich Union Direct would quote and Norwich Union wanted £3500 before I declared any mods !
I would love to know how all you guys get insurance so cheap when I seem to get shafted year in year out !!!
The best they quoted me was £750ish, but it was with Norwich Union Direct, who state on their website that they don’t insure imports over 10 years old, so I would be wary of your policy wording if this happens to you!
I got a quote from these people today,What a joke they are. I am 50 ish clean licence no convictions asked for a price based on my 97 3000gt tt being a second car only 1500 miles a year. What was there price £1500.00   . I would say Adrian flux is a better a better bet they quoted me £529.00 . So the moral to this story is phone & phone & then phone around as many companies as poss & push for a good price

I’m 28 in july and have had one none fault accident in 99 which was found in my favour after a motorcyclist collided with me after commiting 11 simultanous traffic violations !
My premiums have always been ludicrous and only ever once below 1000 a year and that was on my rover 400 1.6 which was still well over £700.
I dont know wether its my postcode or what but it would be worth moving house if it affects my premium as much as it appears !
Confused.com isn’t too hot with imports - most come back simply as a decline.
If you call most the companies they will quote, just not online. I gave up with online quotes for imports - most places give better quotes on the phone, in my experience. If you’ve not tried them, give A-Plan a call at their thatcham office on 01635874646.
Got my 91 MK1 TT GTO insured through ‘insureyourmotor.com’ underwritten by Highway. Think the actual broker name is Hyperformance Ltd. Got it through Confused.com
8 YRS NCD
One named driver (the wife not that she’ll get her hands on it anyway)
40 YRS OLD
These monkeys gave me a half decent quote on th’interweb, then started sending emails saying they thought they could get the price down further and I should ring them. Then I got a phone call and they went through all the details and came back with a quote double the online one. I asked why and she said it was because it was an import. I tried to explain that I had clicked the “GTO import” box when filling in the form, but she wasn’t having it. Cowboys!
Try www.confused.com Only 2 companies quoted but the best was £336 fully comp on my 1993 GTO TT.
I’m 49, no points, 9 years NC but 2 non fault accidents.
Current insurer - Tesco, wanted £591 to renew.
Mine is through Adrian Flux at about £700. I am 29, 9 years NCB and live in a fairly bad area for car crime. Just got a sheet of paper from Warwick Davis that says they can give me a policy for £350! They don’t know about all my mods though, like Adrian Flux do
I phoned the company that provided the best quote ( £336 ) and they basically said they had got it wrong and the price would be higher.
I didn’t waste my time finding out how much higher as I don’t like being conned like this.
So, I tried Adrian Flux ( who I already have my GT40 insured with) and they quoted £404, so I’ve gone with them. Still nearly £200 better than Tesco who wanted £591.
Del’s insurance was up for renewal, so the job of searching fell to me,here are the quotes we got.
Specs 3000gt TT 94 UK , 8000 miles annually, with all modifications, max no claims and protected, no endorsements, and now eligable for saga.

LLyodds (standard) £479.85

Miserable sods, whats the problem with these companies, you think they would insure you on anything
