Just got back from hospital after 4hrs of surgery on a damaged shoulder Original estimate by the Consultant was 4-6 weeks off work, now it would appear the damage was a lot worse than first thought, have to now keep the arm in its sling for 6 weeks, 3 months before i get some sort of mobility back with a poss 6 months before i can return to work & i have to have the other one done yet & all this because of an accident at work.
Sorry to hear that, I hope your shoulder recovers as quickly as possible.
If they have to work on the other one too, will they at least wait until the first one is recovered, otherwise it could be awkward drinking beer through a straw…
Hope not Gav, fly out to Jersey on this coming Tuesday & rang Jet2.com today & they say i am ok to fly as long as the hospital is ok with it, as of today the anaesthetic has now worn off & i am in a great deal of pain, just hope the painkillers work  You all have a good time at JAE & dont let Joe put on you
Sorry to here that, and hope the time goes quickly

Hi Simon it was a 1/4 tonne steel roof support that is connected between the floor of the tailer & the roof, it came off of its runners as i was sliding it along the trailer, as it came off i took the whole weight on my arms & thought they were being ripped out of their sockets, that was May 2012 & all they have done since then is ache all the time till about 6 months ago when they started to really hurt a lot more, hence the surgery, ruptured tendon, damaged bicep & something to do with the muscle in the shoulder, the scans show the other shoulder to be worse than the one i have had done but did not hurt as much so is being done second, The company is fully negligent & a claim is already under way
