I have just been on the phone for a quote and this is the latest information. They are trying to get rid of gray imports in their buisness. If you are a current customer you are ok. To do this every detail you supply must be correct or they will reject you. I was quoted £597.23 fully comp with CSMA discount £505.25(to join is £17 per year). This was given after I changed my egine CC! They asked me the cc on my log book its got 2970cc is this correct? The girl explained that if I had told her it was 2972cc she/computer would have accepted me! ( For an example I asked her to imput the 2972cc as an example)It appears they are changing small details so the computer rejects you and the quote can not be processed! Further she stated they would ask for proof of details of the vehicle prior to supplying the full insurance documents! I can only state what I have been told - perhaps some other members can give them a bell and see what they are told. Quote line 0800 0320307
I have just phoned them back, quoted 2972cc and they are now sending out a quote! I checked with other insurance sites and they refer to the car as 2972cc - so is this the correct - as the log book has 2970cc - was it mixed up on import! This may explain some rejections because the engine size does not match up!

I am with Frizzells through CSMA. When I phoned for a quote on the TT they, at that point, informed me that they would only reinsure existing members on grey imports. I declared that I would be fitting some engine mods and they were fine with that. I am aware though that at the same time other members contacted them and were told they could take out insurance as new customers, this was around March time. I wonder if it’s anything to do with being CSMA members which should in theory give us cheaper rates of insurance. I don’t know-it’s probably best to check on a case by case basis as it seems Frizzell are giving some conflicting information. Or maybe their parent company Liverpool Victoria have different rules. I would say that I have always had good service from Frizzells and would hope they do not stop insuring imports.
so if i was to insure my 306 with them this year, while waiting to be old enough for the gto they would insure me on an import (providing everything else is ok)?
i know how u feel dude, i had an accident that wasnt my fault, and the ■■■■■■■ insurrance companies want to charge me an extra £200 on my insurrance!!! f**K that, i was stationary at a round about
The only thing that goes against me on my insurrance the most is my age and my speeding ban. i live in a low crime rate area and i have 3 years no claims, and have been driving for 4 years
23, 24 next month but they say insurrance dont get cheaper untill ur after 25…but then again, not many 20-25 year olds are gonna get a car as powerful as this, most of them stick to novas, saxo and corsas…cheaper to insure
im not 21 til may next year, but i dont wana drive the crap that everyone else round here is, i got my 306, but its Diesel turbo, nippy but nothing like the gto, think i’m gonna spend 3 or 4 days shopping around for a quote, elephant are the best with £1400, but thats for a 3000gt, not a gto.
i know its sucks, i went out in lincoln last night and all the ppl driving thru down in there Chav-mobiles, all bits of crap thinking they are it and there 14 year old gfs lol…so cant wait to show em up in my GTO 8)
