Fuel Pressure Regulator

Hey Rob!

When are you ever going to get around to adding the
fuel pressure regulator kit to your website?

I know you are soooooooo busy building your empire (evil?), but
my winged beast from the east is in need of some serious juicing!

I’ve tried the stock regulator, which was overdriven by my pump. Pah! :?

I’ve tried the FSE ā€œPower boostā€ valve. It did miss the dogs bum terribly!

I’ve tried one I got off eBay (dont laugh), and I’m still trying to set the pressure without it creaping up to 4bar by itself!

This sounds like Goldylocks and the 3 FPRs? Or was it bears?

Well, thats my rant for this week. Anyone wanna join in?

Paul.

my indecator dont work :frowning:

Paul,
We have both SX-performance and Aeromotive FPR’s in stock, give Rob a call when you can and he’ll be able to sort you out.

Pete

Change the car then?

10-4. Will do. Thanks.

Right,

A fuel pump of 180lph can delivery 3 litres per minute, which is 50cc’s per second. At that rate, a 70 litre tank would be gone in almost 24 minutes. At 100mph, you could cover 38 miles.

So why install an uprated fuel pump? Surely we just need a decent FPR?

Why does the Supra have a 290lph pump?
Its basically the same engine configuration. 3.0L twin turbo.

These numbers dont add up. Are we being duped into uprating a fuel system which doesnt need to be? (I’m only the messenger, and not sent by god)

If you plan on upping the boost, then really to get any decent gains you need bigger injectors. To support the flow that bigger injectors will draw you need a bigger pump. The stock pressure reg gets overwhelmed by a bigger pump and so you end up needing a decent fpr that can flow more to stop that happening when the injectors are only opening a little, eg at idle etc.

Cheers,

Ben.
