Friday 21st September
Cross the Eurotunnel and head to the Novotel in Orleans. This is one hour out of Paris and has a restaurant open until midnight. This gives you plenty of options depending on your commitments on the Friday. Those that have to work can rock up late and still get some hot food. Those who can get away early could spend the afternoon in Paris or just relax at the hotel pool/bar.

Saturday 22nd September
We head to the Tarn Gorge and the Millau Viaduct - the tallest bridge in the world. The roads in the region are very good, particularly the roads around the Gorge. We are staying at a 3* chateau with modern zen-inspired interior. The chateau sits right on the Gorge and boasts it’s own stretch of private ‘beach’ on the Tarn River as well as a heated pool. All of the rooms overlook the River and Capluc Rock.

Sunday 23rd September
FB5K-style roads all day in the Languedoc region of Southern France. The region is full of pristine, twisty new roads in preparation for the area’s expansion. For now though, they’re empty and very inviting. We end the day at our 3* hotel, a 16th century converted mill, accessed by a 300m tree-lined drive way and set in 20 hectares of Provence countryside.
Our hotel is just a couple of miles from the foot of Mont Ventoux and we’ll be taking in a twilight drive to the summit for some empty hill-climb roads and stargazing.

Monday 24th September
It’s a 600mile blast back to Blighty for the hardcore, using the super-efficient French autoroutes. For those that can extend to an extra day it’s a twistier drive to our 14th century chateau in the Beaujolais-Burgundy region. The chateau sits in 65 hectares of vineyards - the chateau produces it’s own wine - with cavernous, centuries-old wine cellars.
The additional night in the chateau also allows for a more relaxed drive back to Calais on Tuesday 25th September.
