I have posted once before as a Newbie but I’m after a bit of advice now, I couldn’t find a relevant category to post in.
Anyway, I have a GTO TT Mk2 which I need a fair amount of work carrying out on. I would prefer to take it somewhere that has experience with this car as opposed to any local garage which may struggle/bodge the work.
So, could anybody recommend somewhere in the South Yorkshire area, or if not the full Yorkshire area for repairs???
I’m after the following work:-
Timing and water pump kit replacement.
Welding on the sills.
Suspension work (unsure of the extent as of yet)
Needs MOT and any other related work to get it through.
Possibly looking at preventive head gasket replacement as well (as long as it doesnt run into the thousands ££).
place in Leeds called Auto World
Never been there but found on interweb, bill themselves as UK leading Specialist in GT/GTO parts(sure Rob may have something to say about that!) www.gtocarparts.co.uk
Tel 0113 255 1067
Auto world supply second hand parts from cars they break.
Can’t help on a garage I’m afraid. Maybe @stevie knows somewhere as he is in Sheffield? But think he takes his to Eurospec in Guildford (worth the drive in all honesty)
I know it’s a bit far but I know I garage in Leicestershire if your interested, awesome guy and knows his stuff very well mapped my car to perfection and he tunes skylines, evos, supra you name it.he even goes abroad to places like malta,Scotland(UK) etc to map other people’s cars etc.
I know eurospec is renound for these cars but this one will match them.

In terms of parts I wouldn’t recommend autoworld. So far I’ve managed to get the purge tank solonoid that is broken and then the replacement was for a gto not a GT, and then the wing that I bought that had a “small ding” in it looked like it lost a fight with a post…
I think as long as you are very clear over what you want they are ok, and did try to put things right (the second time I chased), but I probably won’t get anything else off them
Graham is a great guy and sorted me out with a load of stuff for my car, and at a great price when I was rebuilding it. I would recommend going to him and picking the parts up direct, then you know what you are getting. As for garages, just find a decent one that is interested in the car then work with them on repair procedures for the car. You can find most repair procedures online and pleanty of help on here aswell, its the only way to make sure it’s done right. Who wants to travel miles away to so called experts when some of them don’t even answer emails or return phone calls.
i have a couple of folk up here in Scotland that I trust to do the work but down your way I don’t know of any garages .prob dave naxton might know hes owned gtos for years ,from Harrogate ?
