Well just had a bit of bad/good news whichever way you look at it, I sent auto gearbox ecu away and its on its way back with apparently no issues apart from a couple of dry joints they say
My next question is after I fit it and its still in limp mode where do I start ?
Thinking an electrical issue myself but any input would be great from the experienced people
Many thanks Mick
What is the car doing or not ?
It drives forward and backwards but seems to be setting off in second or third ,all gears select ok but maybe a bit harsh.
Just looking for advise for way forward
Just a thought but if low , first and second don’t operate manually does that indicate a mechanical problem
Many thanks
Hi sorry didn’t get back sooner it might be that the throttle position sensor may not be adjusted quite right, as the auto box really relies on this through the ECU if the throttle position sensor is faulty or not adjusted right it can have an effect on the box like harsh gear changes.
Also check the adjustment of the gear selector cable to the inhibitor switch, the cable may be badly adjusted on the manual control lever on top of the gear box,
Also you may need to flush the gear box change the gear box filter and refill with new oil.
also there is a toggle switch on the center console that says power and hold, if this switch is in the hold position it will hold the gear box in second gear wen you pull away and hold the gears for a lot longer wen accelerating, hope this will help you.
Thanks everyone for all your advise , got an ecu this morning and car all sorted
