Graham Autoworld 2003 (pic heavy)

A big thank you Graham, Autoworld Leeds (GTO Parts).

Went to his place today for a practice run on the removal of the roof. Graham kindly let me chop the roof off a scrapper.

After it was off and because of the interior missing it gave a great insight into where I can get the chasis strengthened.

I will defo be going with this conversion.

Steve`

That looks like fun. How did you lift the top off and was it heavy?

It’s the sills that needs the most strengthening presumably.

Cheers

James

■■■■■■ hell Stevie i cannot believe you are taking the project forward, brings to mind a phrase from one of the best tv icons ever Dell Boy ( “He who dares” )

The roof doesnt wiegh that much to be honest, me and Tracy lifted it off.

From the PDF on the spyder Dan put up, I am basing it on that kind of strengthening, along with extra bracing and a rear bulk head.

One issue so far as I can see is the shape (profile of the window) its going to be an arse trying to get the Corvette roof to fit as the frame is cast aliminium. Or I will have to make poly carb new windows that will help with the weight.

Julian did you think I was kidding?

I will be strengthening the window pillars but they are very sturdy.

Steve

My hat’s off to you but don’t you think it would be simpler to bring over a real Spyder and convert it to RHD?

Hi mark

Looked into this many years back

With the work involved it would be far easier to do what Stevie is doing to be honest as you have to cut out so much to turn LHD to RHD on these cars

Cheers Rob
