Hey I had the same with mine but the person had fitted the mph dials in mine so I just got a kmh-mph converter and it fits on the gear box speedo sensor really easy to do

Ah rite ok, so clocks and a sensor ? Not sure you see exactly what I need so need a list hopefully from someone on here , need to deristrict it too

A few years ago I had a fto which even though she had mph clocks was restricted to the 112 mph jap spec
I bought off eBay a chip which came with full instructions to wire it into the gearbox loom
This I did. And it worked perfectly and I compared the speedo with my satnav and it read correctly
A few days ago after looking on eBay the same chap was selling chips for the Gto so I emailed him to ask if it was fitted the same way to which he replied yes
It deristricts the 112 limit and providing you have mph clocks fitted then it will show correctly the speed
Has anyone done this conversion on the Gto

Ah rite ok so will be just the clocks ? An that chip/sensor , apparently that isn’t hard to fit but wouldn’t know about the clocks , if they are hard to change and if mph clocks are a straight swap for the kph ones with no other bits needed ?

Be careful with converted clocks as some are still clocking k’s not miles! And all it is is a mph face on a kph cluster. Just mask out the k on your clocks and convert it properly. There is a step by step guide here somewhere il find it. Then all you gotta do Is go down the road without the clear cover on, get someone to sit by your side in another car doing 30mph then pull the Speedo needle off and fit it on near as 30mph as possible.

Edit: next time please use the search function.

Edit2: this way of converting also moves the speed limit up to 180mph so I’ve been told.

Ok il keep that in mind when I get my plasma glows from Poland. Mine usually reads 3/4mph more than my golf Speedo tho, 02 plate. Maybe it’s for added security where speed camaras are concerned??

Yeah as said the speed limiter is 180kph so when you convert it this will change to 180mph.
