Hell yeah... I passed ;-) ;-)

I passed, I passed :bandance: :bandance:

Well i had a change of jobs recently and in mid September i joined Emma’s dads business as a trainee Oil Fired Heating Engineer.

I had been in the motor trade for the last 17 years up until i left VW and joined Headcorn Heating LTD. Prior to that i had never even seen a boiler (living in roasting hot SA  ). Well after a mere 3 months hands on training i was sent to OFTEC for my exams. The coarse is 3 days long, 2 days theory and one day exams.

I started studying my butt off a few weeks ago and was told i only need to study Books 2&3. Last week i found out i actually need to study 4 books  . Sooo flat out studying another 2 books of regulations and legislation etc etc. Get to the training place yesterday (Day 1) and they guy pulls out 6 books as reference   AND all the reg’s have changed since my set of books i studied from came out, the ones he pulled out were the new regs  .

Anyways this is a 3 day coarse/exam I’m meant to be on. Day 1 he talks to me briefly and decides i know more than enough already and babbles on mixing things up as he goes, (referred to one burner by 3 different names of which all were wrong  ). Farted and burped constantly and only me on the whole coarse. Needless to say i panicked and thought i was done for. We skimmed through ALL 6 books by 11am on day 1 and started the first of 8 exams. I did 3 exams yesterday and 2 practical theory exams.

Went back today and was thrown straight into the workshop for my practical exam. Shortly after that i had 2 more exams and then lunch. Following lunch i did my final exam and was told i had passed my qualification and they will send off my certificate in the new year.

What a ■■■■■■ task all this lot was… wrong books, not enough books, NO lectures, exams on regulations that have changed and on certain stuff thats ABOVE this current qualification, examiner got 2 answers wrong on his answer sheet which i had to prove mine were right (which they were) and then still did all of that in 1.5 days and not 3 like it should have been :dunno:

Anyways, thank god i studied my little touche off cos i would have been in a world of trouble.

only saw my last 3 exams results, 88%, 100%, 100% :bangreen:

Well im off to try some of Janies Vodka cake now
