Help please?

First of all just want to say hi to everyone , i’ve had a quick look around the forum it looks like a very welcome and informative place.and you all seem very friendly…

my names adam and im 19, i live in the hampshire (south)

basically im after a new car and have fallen in love with the gto/3000gt!!

i thought this would be a dream car that i would never own but i think (and hope) it might be possible.

i’ll be 20 in a couple of months (october) by which time i will have been driving almost 3 years and have a 2 years NCB. the reason i thought it would be impossible for me to own one of these cars was insurance… but seeing theres some young people on this site it dosn’t seem that bad.

i am willing to pay up to £2000… i live in a low crime area which should make my policy a bit cheaper.im currently insuring a group 14 car at around £1000. what group is th 3000gt/gto??

im hoping you guy’s can give me as much info as possible over the next couple of months and if i eventualy buy this car i hope i can become part of the commuinty and come to meets etc.

has any one got any good ideas on what insurance i should go for and how much i’ll be loking at?..

excuse my ignorance if i get anything wrong but i havn’t got a clue about this car so i need alot of info!!!

im after the uk version (im under the impression that this is the cheaper one to insure and performance is better). its the 3000gt right? and it is the twin turbo v6 24v 3.0l engine??

i have up to max 6,000 to buy one, will this get me a decent one?

sorry if these questions have been asked before and i very do appreciate all your replys…

cheers

adam (fingers crossed i’ll get one of these beasts!)

also which model would it be cheaper to insure? (must be a turbo though!)

and import or uk?

A lot of companies won’t insure imports (partly because their heads are planted in their arses). This makes your choices limited. Those who do insure imports generally hate young drivers. Those who insure imports for young drivers, won’t touch modifications. You see, it’s difficult.

You will find a lot of companies will insure a 3000GT, so at your age you will find it easier to get insurance at a decent price.

Or, why not do as most of the chav underclass in this country have decided on being the way of the future. That’s right, don’t bother with insurance and tax. Hell, save the £2000+ every year and spend it on modifications, running costs and beer.

In fact you could go the whole Pikey yard and fit a tow ball and tow your caravan between council wastegrounds with trailer trash wife and 15 illiterate thieving kids in tow. Don’t forget the dogs either, got to have dogs to make it right!

Steve

PS, It’s all a bit of tongue in cheek (except the first bit)

LOL!!!

steve on a mission to rid the world of chav scum…

ha! lol!

thanks for your reply

well i’ve just got a quote (for when im 20 in a couple of months) and it was only £1773! quite happy with that and i can still prob find it cheaper else where!

looks like im gonna be getting one of these beast!!!

i’ve been loking around on auto trader and there seems to be loads of GTO (imports) around but not many 3000gt!? is the gto a better car as i was under the impression that the gto had less performance thatn the uk 3000gt? also was there a japan 3000gt or were they all uk?

cheers in advance for the replies

the 3000GT is hard to find and are rarer than the GTO, but they are better for the insurrance, i gave in trying to find one and got a cheap GTO and paid the rest of the money into the insurrace.

Still thinking of a Twin turbo, but ban stopped me from getting one, insurrance was a joke, but a 3000GT…£890…its so stupid

Hi,

What does the word “CHAV” mean? I presume it’s a new word for “Boy racer”, or is it a word that describes the scum that cause our premiums to increase at a hefty rate of knots? Or is it an abbrevition?

Thanks y’all,

Mike  .

go to www.chavscum.co.uk and all will be revealed lol
