Been the very happy owner of this fine machine for about 6 months now, and am finally getting round to introducing m’self! (It’s been a busy few months )
A dream car since I was 12 from playing the original Gran Turismo back in ancient times and coming across this monster. About a year later GT2 comes out and a blue VR4 becomes one of my go-to cars while I spent what was probably an excessive amount of time on that game. (and I’d do it again)
Fast forward to Current Year and I’ve got my real life GT car.
12-year old me wouldn’t believe it and I still have to look back and smile every time it’s parked up.
From what I’ve seen, this one’s popped up on the forums a couple of times already, so I’m happy to report that it’s still going strong! Off the top of my head, everything is pretty much standard and I’m hoping to keep it that way for as long as possible. More importantly I’m hoping it stays running long enough for my 3-month old son to get to experience it and remember “dad’s cool car”, but that’s a way off yet.
Great guy who clearly appreciates the car. I did feel like I’d become the new custodian of something special, rather than buying a used motor.
Thanks for the welcome, all!
Hoping to make it to some meets, if free time allows.
My next mission to hopefully move somewhere with A: a garage to keep it/work on it in, and B: somewhere within easy reach of some decent driving roads, so it can stretch it’s legs a little more often! (Not the only reason for moving, but it’s a good motivator!)
It’s great your childhood dream has come true and you’ve definitely come to the right place to keep that beauty on the road until your little boy is old enough to appreciate just how ‘cool’ it is .
The Technical Section has a vast amount of knowledge by Members who have had these cars for 20+ years, no problem unsolved👍.
Being from the Midlands, you are pretty central for access to most of our meets.
The next one is at the NEC Birmingham 20th - 22nd March where we have a Club stand, with 5 of our cars on show, a huge event generally with lots to see and Trade stands, pop along with your family and introduce yourself Wil.
The NEC is pretty much down the road from us, and I’m always missing the Classic Car show. Looks like I’ve got a good reason to make sure we’re there this year!
