HI there
Over the years I have learnt how to get better insurance quotes and don’t worry my methods are perfectly legal.
First of all try www.admiral.com , www.elephant.co.uk and www.tesco.com
The above 3 on average tend to give very aggressive quotes but better can be found from others but I have had to claim with Admiral and they handled things extremely quickly and paid out very fast so Admiral get a thumbs up from me.
Anyway the tips:-
- For estimated mileage, remember it says estimated so put down half of what you actually do. So if you do 10,000 miles per year, put in 6,000 or whatever you wish but don’t take the ■■■■ too much.
- Get yourself on someone elses insurance, your wifes, parents etc. and then make sure you say yes to the “do you have access to another vehicle”.
- Add your girlfriend/wife to your insurance as a second driver as this in most cases can reduce the premium by a considerable amount as insurance company assume they will be driving the car too.
- UK cars tend to be cheaper too insure so bear that in mind.
The above 3 should help. I am paying £970.00 fully comprehensive on a 1998 UK 3000GT TT. I live in a low-risk post code, have put down 7000 miles per year which was a mistake as I actually do that but hey I lost a £100, doh. My mum is a second driver and I am insured to drive her car. I am 25 with 1yr NCB, have claimed and have a TS20 conviction so I believe that my £970 fully comp. is a good deal.
