I bought a black 1997 Mk3 in Cyprus, paid import duty just as type approval came into force. Beautiful , heartbreaking to look at. I watched it rot. I did attend a small pub show, ‘wheres half your engine’ was dead funny … oh I laughed , even taking the mick out of your pop ups didn’t help… they grew on me.
I watched them pick up with a chain and weigh it in £150.A’d already bought a red then pink then red, then pink depending how hard you polished it. 3000GT btw, written off by a mini overcooking it on a twisty.
It wouldnt have passsed its mot anyway, most GT’s are rot boxes unless theyve been undersealed and garaged. I wouldnt have another.
Now then… I think i’ve got this one right.
It will be my last, we’re starting to get wierd, we’re Cosworth odd right now, Ford Capri types, 2.8’s are rare, when is the last time you saw a 3.0 Capri with the red’d pay to trim dials? I’d neg to touch one, i’d pay to lick the bonnet.
Jenson Intercepters, ok car, fan club like ours 20 years ago… common. I’ve seen more Trans-Ams than Interceptors… top name though.
I have agreed (seller may change heart) a late 1991 (galvanised chassis apparently), six speed, new rebuild engine. It is so bloody drop dead beautiful, I dont even read the paper in the toilet… i just look at it, and look. I even achieved wood , although I wasn’t snapping one off at the time, that would be wierd)… No the missus needed to stop talking for 5 mins, I secretely propped the car pic out the way while stig did his best lap ever… beat that lads.
I’m so excited, I really think ive got a keeper, that I will read books to when no …ones about etc.
