Yeah i agree too as thats what ive done, i miss my old Madza 323 1.3…it was invinciable! till chav scum vandalised it
Ditto,
As per my earlier post the junior chef at work passed his test last week (Thursday) bought a 4.5K Pug 206 at the weekend and wrote it off this Thursday. I had the unfortunate experience of following him home from work on Monday, and on Tuesday told him if he carried on driving like that he would have an accident inside a month, he informed me he was a very good driver and he was fully in control (shame that didn’t include being in his own lane when cornering at speed). Worst part was his new car broke down on Tuesday and the garage didn’t bring it back until Thursday so he acctually drove it the grand sum of three days before writing it off. Luckily no one else was involved, he had his mates in the car and lost control on a bend went up a bank and hit a tree.
So far my apprentice has been a little more restrained mainly due to his having to drive his mums Civic while his car is in the bodyshop.

It took me 6 times to pass my driving test, thats how strick they are in lincoln at the test center, and i dont blame them with all the idiots driving about.
about 7/10 ppl who pass first time will have an accident in the first year of driving as they think they are a good driver…
4 years of driving i aint had one accident appart from someone shunting me a year ago while stationary at a roundabout. 3 of my mates who passed first time have had accidents cause by them.
I have just turned 20 but I have had my GTO Twin Turbo MK3 R.reg with 4x4 4WS 6 speed from when I was 19. I had a Honda CRX 16.vtec dohc before that and the insurance on both were enough money. I was also last year a student at north Lindsey but I would not listen to anyone if I were you if you have the money or if you devote you life to your car and don’t drink much or smoke then I would just go for it. You only live once and that will pass fast so do it when you are young. I must say the one who said you may crash in the first couple of months may be correct most people will but you are not driving a s***y corsa or something like that. You are driving a JAP car so you don’t need to do silly things in it to make your self-a risk just be Careful. I think it may be a good Idea to get a good older model and save the £4000 to go towards other costs. I would say go 4 it.
Does your keyboard look like this;

or do you actually have some punctuation you could use?
i agree, very difficult to read. Weird…

or it could be the fact that he`s overused them so much they have worn off and that he dont know what keys to press
i’d like to know what kind of job you have that can get you a £15,000 car with a £3000 insurance bill when you cant even spell or use grammar correctly. where do i sign up?
Ha ha yea it may look like that to the older readers but the younger members may be ok and I don’t no what you are all on about who says my insurance casts £3000 your just pulling these costs out of thin air like normal. And it does look like you couldn’t read it as if you had of read it you would have read that I was a student when I had the car last year. And I guess you will say I got the money from someone like my dad or granddad well I didn’t I did it my self. Nice touch putting 306 in your name now everyone will listen to you lol.
im 19 nearly 20 (dec 18th)
It costs me over 2k to get insured on one of these beasts!
do you think it is worth it
hell yeah my 200sx was amazing.
depends tho, if u want to be able to afford clothes…
i have to go around naked, but having a nice car is worth it
btw, imo i believe you need a crap first car so you can get used to it.
My first car was an AX GT 1.4 and it was considered “fast” by many of my peers. I ragged that poor car but learnt a lot from it (i blew it up doing 117 on a local duel carriage way!)
I then had a honda civic 1.6 VTEC about 140 bhp
then a 200sx 220 bhp.
I now understand RWD are scary (especially when went) but at least i had a learning curve i could handle!
but going from mountain bike to GTO is a bit stupid you will end up killing yourself.
I suggest you get a nice first car get used to driving (and more importantly learning to drive defensively and well)
** by the way the top bit about speed could be completely made up and holds no grounds in the court of law!)
FYI… I got my GTO Jap Import (Non-turbo, Auto) when I was 20…
1st years insurance (£4600), Tesco Insurance (Age 20)
2nd years insurance (1800), Adrian Flux (Age 21)
3rd years insurance (£1700), Adrian Flux (Age 22)
4th year… ???
Now 23, looking at the next years soon… Tesco wouldn’t take me back in 2nd year as ‘company policy changed’… a little thank you for paying £4.6k and not even a scratch on the motor! Thanks Tesco’s!
Regards
You didnt really pay over 4k for your insurance did you???
Got a trust fund by any chance?
You obviously didn’t barter with Tesco’s cause I’m 23 now and bought mine for my 20th aswell so we obviously were insured with them at the same time, but I ‘only’ paid £2149 and that’s for a Twin Turbo.

My GTO has been garaged for a couple of years and I have just run the Insurance gauntlet, funny how nice they sound until you mention the car, one company just sneered and put the phone down on me. A few years ago Direct Line didnt even bother to tell me they had cancelled my policy they just re-credited my Card with 50% of my insurance payment two months after taking out the policy, the reason being they had not received the acceptance forms (Which I had sent by return), when I tried to re-insure the car they said they are not insuring japanese imports anymore… Oh well enough about the bad companies… I called Liverpool Victoria, who gave me a brilliant quote (Under 500 quid, 9 years NCB, 40+)… so guys… great thread if not a bit scary, I have no idea who mentioned Liverpool Victoria but thanks anyway

Unfortunately I did… the lust for a great car! (…and no trust fund, IT Recruitment since 18 = busy times/good commission)

Is yours a Jap Import? If it is… then I’ll find the nearest window and jump!
Who are you with now? As I need insurance soon (when car out of garage!)
what you have to consider williams is the post code.
i’m 34 with a 92 GTO and my lowest quote was £1175 on a manchester post code, the next one to it was £1400 then £1900 upto £4400 with footman james who i ask if i got a gold ROLEX and a armani siut to go with it? they declined!
Yep, very true. The post code is the absolute killer in most cases. Mine doubles my quote!!! Good damn london
