Hi there, i had a chat today with premium-choice, and they gave me a quote that was good, but after they have found out that it was x the 3000gt and not x gto…and the only company that insure my car with them is highway…£699…no way that i’ll insure my car with them anymore after all they done when my car was stolen
I can’t see that difference with 3000gt and gto…
As far as i seen there no many insurances that do gto’s… :?
Ivo please drop me your reference number in a PM and I’ll make sure there us nobody else we can help you out with.
BTW you may find that your gripe is with the insurance broker you were with and not highway.
Anyway, If you can leave me your details I’ll get back to you asap.
What is all this GTO Vs 3000GT issues. Can someone explain why one is easy to insure, but the other is cheaper when modding?
I have heard this talked about for ages, but no real answers.
3000gt is a UK spec vehicle
The GTO is classed as a Grey import. (Non uk spec vehicle)

Dave thanks, but after 5 years I have got that bit , but why does this have an impact on your insurance and why does the GTO getting better quotes after modding??
Insurers realise that (in general) cars that have been imported (from Japan) are more than likely going to have been modified at some point or other.
And remember that all insurers are different and one rule for one is not the same rule for others.
E.g elephant will quote on a modified 3000gt but you can’t get a quote for a GTO at all.
