Hi @nickst185 ,

Welcome to the biggest and best GTO/3000GT car club in the UK :+1:

To your question: it’s a very difficult one as there is no information on the car. Some initial thoughts.

Doesn’t start: does it turn over and just doesn’t fire or is it completely dead when trying to start.

Also the condition of the shell and paintwork are important as yes they can be fixed but can cost a lot.

Check for rust underneath and the areas by the wheel arches.

Good luck :+1:

Id say if it doesnt start its not worth much and i personally wouldn’t pay more than 1800 quid as you might need to put another 3k or more to put right amd than there is the question of rust and paint condition too!

Thanks for your help both of you its much appreciated. If the seller takes my offer I will fully join the forum and post some pictures of the car .

This is the car

From talking to the owner its a fuel pump related problem , the underneath of the car as been all welded just some corrosion on the bodywork to weld left to do

Hi @nickst185, there’s a fair amount of receipts there. It might be worth asking if there is a cambelt change in there somewhere. If not it might be worth factoring in the cost if it needs a change. Timber Green a bit of a rarity as far as colour goes.

Cheers

A odd one for me is it hasn’t had an MOT since 2012 - why? And he did a load of welding a few years back - why not drive it and MOT etc… just appears odd to me - I would definitely want to see the car before I parted with any money as yes it could be cheap but if it is modified for higher power - can these mods be supported anymore? Or does it need some serious cash to get running again?
