After 30 years of waiting I’ve decided the time has now arrived to take leave of my senses and get myself a 3000 GT or GTO , but before jumping in feet first I have a few questions
How can you tell if a car is a TT and not an NA from an under the bonnet picture as I have seen a car that I like but doesn’t state whether a TT or not ?
Is there a big difference between the 2 cars ?
As you can possibly tell I have been a member for a while reading many threads to get as much info as possible and feel that this is the right place to get the information I will need .
a twin turbo will have a y pipe off the inlet manifold and a n/a will have just a single fat tube as for the difference other than power not sure never driven either lol
That’s definately an N/A. Looks like it may be a manual gearbox.
If it is, they are a nice car. Better than the Auto.
Lighter than the TT, and seem to handle better as a result.
Yes, down on power compared to a TT, but more significantly, hugely down on torque.
I have owned both. TT is MUCH better for overtaking, and straightline acceleration.
N/A is a much better handling car, or at least mine was.
Thats my old mk1 @nuttyfisher,working on getting the new mk2 asgood but along way to go.ive owned both na and tt the best i can describe it is:the na is a great drive, the tt is an EVENT!
I have only been in a gto once when I was about 19 and wanted one ever since but life just kept getting in the way I was really impressed with how the car handled back then and was very suppressed that the guy that took me out in it said that it was unmodified and was hooked there and then.
Hello and welcome to the club! I’m not sure if anybody else has pointed this out yet we do have a buyers guide on the forum which is well worth a read I’ll come back and read this post in a bit once I finish work and see if I can help anymore
Yes I have read the buyers guide and found it very useful information that will come in handy when I have read more information about these lovely and girls.
