Jae 2007

Well
the rain did stop me traveling up friday after all and the woman at the show ground said the camping areas may drain ok over night if no more rain.
So tomorrow morning will atempt another go at getting there, anyone going up from essex/london or on route from south welcome to join me but i am leaving at 8am !

Ray

have just tried my tent out,

but i think it’s a bit small

Ah ha ha ha good 1 pogo i like that! brill lol

Ray

Ive chickened out of the Idea of camping, it started raining here at around 2.30pm yesterday ( Friday ) & as of 8.30am this morning its still raining, needless to say, Hotel is booked for myself, Diane & the kids, was thinking of Diane & the kids of course
See you all later

Julian.

I think I am going to give it a go a little later this morning. I got stranded in London yesterday evening as the trains were cancelled but managed to get a National Express at 9.30. The M4 was open but a number of the A roads on the way down to Bristol were shut.

J

PS can’t get there now so have fun everyone

If anyone gives up on camping there will be a least one vacancy in the hotel adjacent to the show ground…

Paul

We are gutted, thanks to the weather we did not get there, I hope anyone who did made it, had a good time, and did not have a terrible journey home. :frowning:

Cheers,
Neil.

Just got home, the weather sucked but it was still good. The journey should have taken 2½ hours but ended up taking 4 due to diversions around flooded areas! Nightmare.

A serious big thanks to all that organised JAE this year.

Lel and I had a great time and were amazed at all the work that had been put in to making this a great weekend for the club. Marquee, food, decorations, chairs, music, the list goes on. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Also nice to see everyone again.

Bit embarassed that I didn’t help out much with the packing away, but in my defence I have not felt quite that bad in the morning for as long as I can remember. Who made the bin full of punch?

Really good weekend guys. Thanks again.

Dee & Lel

Was a great time all round despite rain on and off, a good effort put in by the club organisers without a doubt. Shame about the band businesss.
Shame to i can’t handle the hangovers like some, was good to hear Dawn snoring though , maybe i put my tent a little too close to Dels.
And why is Dawn going to beat me up again? I try my best to keep that woman ammused!

Ray PS i got photos of the night but too stoopid to get them up on the site again.

A big up to the organisers and committee for another excellent event :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Great to meet up with everyone again; and Ron (whizzwheels) keep the faith matey you know you want to. and it was good to hear Sue is okay.

Russ

First one for myself & Diane, cannot believe the work that goes into all this, amazing job by all that set it up, 3 cheers from myself & Diane, her kids enjoyed the surf machine as well, we had to go off to bed a bit earlier than everyone else cos the kids were knack**ed, looking forward to the next one at Japs.

Julian.

A big thank you to all the organisers and club members who made us feel very welcome  our 1st JAE infact our 1st GTO meeting, great mixing with like minded people :drive:

Thanks gang for another relaxing get together
And i’ve got to admit the hotel was a bonus, you’ll have to try it next year

Regards

Malc & Bianca

Nice to finaly put some faces to the cars and have a good chat with a few people.

Only sorry I couldn’t make sunday as well to speak to more people.

Thank you to all those who had a hand in organising the event, we had a really good time, apart from freezing my ass off!
I was disappointed that Brendan didnt wear a thong but next meet I shall bring one so he has no excuse!!
Afraid boxers dont do it for me.

Can’t thank you guys enough, especially to the organisers, we spoke to a few of the other Scottish guys on teh MR2 stand, Scoobies and Skylines and they all had to mention how ■■■■■■ lucky we were that the GTO organisers were so … well organised.

It was great to meet a lot of the owners, I can’t believe I still have met you all…that punch was awful but I couldn’t stop drinking it…camping for the first time in years was great.

I got off lightly after 5 very nervous minutes with MAS and Russ looking under my bonnet…tutting and ooooing and shaking their heads…they only swore a few times and I do believe a new ■■■■■■■ being ripped was not yet required!

Good to meet Rob at last…Ive spent more time on the phone to you thatn I have to my wife in the year of ownership…the fact that I gain a huge Gazebo to take back meant that not having the new gearbox was a blessing in disguise!

Anyway a long way of saying …Thank you very much, Amanda and I loved the whole weekend!

And isn’t it so much easier without soaking wet cam-nets ?

A big thank you to everyone who managed to make it to the event because without you lot we don’t have anything to organise it for.
It was really good to get a respectable turn out from all over the country.

Here’s who really made it possible;
J@mes for the event organisation on behalf of GTOUK.
Simon Baker for his ■■■■■■ hard work behind the scenes with the club cash and other organising.
Martyn [yellow T.T.] for running Simon around to the shops so you could all have the food and drinks etc.
Brendan and Wendy for making sure that the club trailer arrived with all the bits to fill the marquee.
Dawn [Angel] for her persistent encouragement to everyone to enjoy the party and help with absolutely anything at all where it’s needed.
To young Dave [son of Steve and Angie] for always being there to help out when people need food and anyone else who helped out with the b-b-q’s.
If i have overlooked anyone else i apologise.

Mark.

well done to james and everyone else who helped organise this, myself and my brother had a excellent weekend, so a big thank you fro us both!! i have some pics of the weekend although i don’t seem to have any pics of our stand!! i will upload them when i get back from work!

thank you again and well done!! 8)

As I posted before, what a brilliant event, but turned out to be a rather expensive weekend for myself & Diane with the kids, spent £150 on camping equipment, then booked us all into a hotel for b+b cos of the weather, £128, then on our way back got flashed by a speed camera on the A1 nr. Grantham, that will be another £60, Road Angel beeping in one ear, Diane nattering in the other OOOOOps!!, anyway a small video of the events.
