Is anyone up for a meet in Notts this month? We haven’t had one in a while…

Looks like you may have just volunteered for a job!
I may pop along!!!
Mike
I don`t mind if one or two are turning up.
Cheers Julian.
might be interested , depends when and where ?
Last thursday in January is the 24th. Same place in Beeston? or shall we meet there and find a better pub?
I think we should meet at the normal place this month, and discuss what to do in future, I think bowling and Go-Karting seemed to go down well, so perhaps we could alternate between going to the pub and doing something more exciting…
Never been to a meet as yet, but if I can get over in time wouldn’t mind attending if its OK with everyone?
Just need to know time and place.
Russ…
I still think a Saturday or Sunday lunch meet is far better than an evening one, the Yorkshire meet is always pretty well attended, Bubbles pretty crowded, the West Midlands meet was also pretty busy & they are all at weekends, eves are a bit difficult for the members that live that bit further away, just thought it might be nice to give anyone a chance to attend, You have to admit, we don`t always get the best attended meets, maybe it is time for a change, but hey, who am I  Just a middle aged N/A Mk1 owner who will probably get shot down in flames.
Julian.
Everyone agree a weekend is better then?
Last weekend in January? Sat 26th or Sun 27th ?
Where as i would imagine the Nurseryman in Beeston car park would be rammers unless the meet was scheduled just before the lunch rush hour?

The idea of having meets, is to meet new/other members & have a look around other peoples cars, mods etc etc, this cannot be done on a dark winters freezing cold night, OK in the summer months have evening ones but surely for the winter months daytime weekends would be better, maybe the weekend idea wont work, but we can hardly say the eves have been a roaring success. we havn
t even had a meeting for around 8 months or so, anyway looking at the sarcasm in your answer i`ll take that as a no from you then  You have always had some sort of problem with the weekend idea, but the meets are about far more than just you or for that matter me, lets have a proper democratic vote from all the relevant members & see where we stand, if it turns out as eves then fine, but I really do know where I would rather be on a freezing, cold, wet winters night, not going to fall out with you Mike cos of all the Notts members your the second best looking after me Seriously tho, I really don’t want to fall out over this, do a proper vote & if I am wrong, then I will put my hands up & say so
Julian.
Steady on Julian I think you may have misunderstood Mike, I didn’t read his post as sarcastic just as trying to move the post along to making a definite decision/date.
Mark
Once a date is set I’ll make it if I can be it a weekend or in the week, I don’t really have a preference as I’m pretty busy at the moment so may not be able to make it
Mark
I’m fine with weekend meets, however I DJ on a Saturday evening fortnightly, so Saturday lunch time or Sunday meet would better for me. However just remember that Top Gear is normally on a Sunday evening.
Sundays might be nice for a Sunday lunch, but as Mike pointed out, that’s when everyone else wants to eat. We’d need to choose venue and time quite carefully, perhaps making a reservation?
My vote is currently for Sunday 27th Jan. I don’t mind about the venue…
RIGHT THATS IT, I AM NOT COMING
jees Jules!!! wasnt expecting that
Everyone please take note how a forum post can be easily mistaken.
No sarcasm at all from me Julian (have a full pack of marlboro here if your stressed, should take ya 15mins to get here  )
Like Mark said i was just pushing the post along. No problem with me having it at weekends. ( surely i dont even get a vote these days do i)
Never had, In the early days (summer dont forget)getting it up and running people were reluctant to sacrifice a weekend day.
I was just mentioning like Dan said we need to choose time carefully to beat the rush etc etc and to have parking spots. especially if its a Sunday which by the way i think it should be!
Dont worry, no fight from me…an chuckling here at ya, you grumpy old fart. have known you too long!
SO when are we all gonna volunteer Julian to be Area 6 events co-ordinator!!
ciao!
Mike
Area 52 maybe?
I can do Thursday the 24th on the evening, but the last Thursday of the month would be the 31st, which I’m working. I can’t make the either day of the last weekend of this month either due to work.
Steve
Myself and Tracy will be up for this meet, need to catch up on things since been away
Steve
Mike and Anna get your arse there…
 I need a fag instead of this bleeding patch
Julian.
I think if your worried about it being busy, then the Saturday lunchtime would be better, anyway ignore me at the moment, the dog got runover & died just before Christmas, my Mum was rushed into hospital as well & nearly died & spent Christmas in intensive care & I am dying for a fag, so my state of mind at the moment is probably not what it should be
Julian.
at the risk of getting bitten … weekend better i reckon , bit difficult to get finished at work , home , shower etc then drive up to notts on an evening … if it on a weekend daytime , can plod up there and take time rather than rushing there an back again but hey im not from notts so tell me to pipe down if ya want
This is the very reason I suggested a daytime weekend meet because of members from outside the immediate area but who would still like to join us for a meet, the other meets I have been to were all on Saturday lunch time & never seemed to have a problem eating/parking etc. I think its time for a poll, Sundays good chance of being busy & Saturdays possibly not so busy.
Julian.
