Anyone planning a convoy down?
I will be leaving from Cirencester, not sure what time yet though…

Marty

I’ll be coming in from the other direction. Melksham is only 15 minutes from Chippenham so I haven’t got far to go. Anyone passing through Melksham let me know and we can travel in style.

I have ONE spare stand pass, and TWO spare Adult entry tickets, if anyone wants them.
(FREE to Members)
Let me know and we can meet up in the morning, before going in to Japfest.

I rang Today (18 May) and was told that it is all day entry. I will be arriving around 10am I expect. See you all there.

Dee.

Not a bad day.

Couldn’t help but feel freezing cold all day and then came back with sunburn.

Almost cried for the bloke when I saw that NSX in the garage after he had rolled it. What a mess. He ain’t going to buff that one out… That’s for sure.

I thought that it was a really good turn out for GTOUK. Lots of cars there. Nice to see everyone too! My nephew that went with me (In lieu of Lel) has come back home with “The Wants” He particulally loved someones black MK1, sorry I don’t know who’s that was

Dee.

Myself and Donna enjoyed ourselves today and like Dee we have the dreaded sunburn

We were walking away from the paddock area when the NSX crashed, turned around to see the underneath of it as it hit the tyre wall, highlight for us was the driftworks team , excellent viewing 8) oh and the other highlight , the first time i have been at a meet with my car , not bad after 4 years 8)

Car looks good too Dee

regards

Craig

I think that may have been Bens ^(GTOBlack)^

We had a great day too. This was my first show and was amazed at how a little bit of bling can attract the crowds. Loved standing out on the outskirts and listening to what people were saying. Some real idiots though, that haven’t got a clue about our motors.

Top waffle for the day I heard was:-

“That’s just a Granada engine put in sideways”
“You only have to replace 3 spark plugs when you service these because you can’t get to the rear ones”

I hope the bottom one wasn’t the mechanic at my Mitsu garage!

Loved Marty’s entrance, must have really woo’ed the crowds with that one

Here are some pics too, of the best motors (and worst van) I saw at the show.

That black one was probably Russ (G force) car.

Some nice pics there Craig, if you look very careful you can just see mine in the background

Next time come over and say hello, I didntr recognise you as I’ve never seen you at a show in your car

Most of them??? It’s all of em Craig…

hi,
i had a reat time as always.could talk all day, which i think i did,met new members.weather was ok,.a great turnout as usual.plenty of interest in the car as especially now ime not embarrassed about my engine anymore,
the track time i had was brilliant,120 down the main straight was fast enough for me,could have stretched to 125 but just trying to look after the engine which was getting a bit hot towards the end,
somebody videod it for me on my camcorder so i was grateful,by the way it was great footage.
looking forward to seeing more photos,i took loads but havnt got the knack yet of putting em up.
looking forward to the jae to start all over again.
great club,great people…cheers…RUSSELL

good day out ,met a few of you on the club stand but was a bit limited for time as I was up with a few mates & wouldn’t have been fair to them even though I would have liked to, but the cars were looking good & were plenty of attention well done chaps
cheers phil

Some pics of the only GTO I spotted on track. I’m sure I saw it on the club stand 8)

I got there about half 10 but was a bit surprised to see not that many gto’s.

had a sore ■■■■■■ left foot driving down the mile long road to the car park though, as did dion. tidy motor you have there bud.

Left really early though as had the lass’s parents with me. it was a very tight squeeze getting 4 adults in the car but at least i made it there and back with no engine probs.

Still have a rear turbo and prop bearings for sale if anyone is interested. £250 for the lot not including postage

Did anyone see the blue smashed up scooby? looked to be a write off. Felt sorry for the poor fecker who had that and the white evo that had a tad too much smoke pumping out the back of it. he wanted to carry on on the track but was black flagged.

All in all it was a good day, nice to see some more GTO’s and 3kgt’s shame i never got a chance to speak to others.
