OK guys and gals…

We ‘May’ have a HUGE problemo…the good ol English weather has seriously ■■■■■■ up the farming timings due to the extreme heat and now downpours almost every night. So how does this affect the BBQ ?? The field we are/were going to use is currently 4 foot high with grass that should have been silaged in June. We missed the silage window (due to weather)and now have to hay the field instead…however the farmer cant do this until a GUARENTEED 2 solid days of pure HOT weather.

I spoke to him today again and we/he is doing EVERYTHING we can to get the field ready for the BBQ next Sunday. We have been in contact with the met office and next week so far does not look too bad weather wise.

We DO have an area we could use as a ‘plan B’…however it will not be as good as the original field.

This was totally unforeseen and the field in all essence should have been prepared last month already :frowning:

I will keep this post updated and If we don’t manage to do the field by Thursday, i propose we postpone the BBQ till mid August (which incidentally is meant to be our best summer weekend)

PLEASE CHECK THIS POST NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT FOR UPDATE.

The BBQ is NOT canceled as yet…just a bit of fore warning we may need to move it

There’s a couple of GTO’s on here with low enough front bumpers that could help with the cutting :wink: :lol:
Fingers crossed the weather picks up for you guys cus I know Elton has put a lot of effort into this.

August would suite be better anyway to be honest as then i don’t have to go through all the trouble of trying to get the shift swapped.

Hi Guys,

As Smudge said…a LOT of organising has gone into this and the fact i started preparing for this 3 months ago should have ensured it ran smoothly, however we cant do anything about the weather. IF i have to cancel /postpone i will be personally £150 out of pocket…and thats before re-arranging the next one, so here’s hoping it all comes together.
