Will be going this time!.
Didn’t end up going this year for various reasons, but I missed the weekend a LOT.
So…Any interest?
I will probably not be taking my GTO, as last time I went we had nowhere near enough ‘kit’ with us. I think the Galant estate is the vehicle of choice
What kit were you lacking?
This sounds good to me, I’ve been meaning to go, however I’ll need to check funds and work schedule, so won’t know until after Xmas.

We really were 2 blokes in a field with beers and chairs, that’s about it.
This time, Gazeebo, tables, decent cooking facility, music, coolbox, lighting etc.
Hence the Galant Estate.
Definitely NOT slumming it this time around.
Also, we were too late in getting campsite tickets. We need to be more central.
It’s really good weekend and well worth the drive.
Last time we did Newhaven/Dieppe, which cut the mileage down.
Dover/Calais popular, but a good drive to Le Mans!

How many times have we tried to get this to happen.
Give up mate .
You know the crowd that goes each year.
And we’ve always taken the gto’s.
Got it off to a fine art now, the gear we take.
I’ll put some pic’s up of our previous adventures mate.

I would budget around £600.00 from where you live Dan.
Thats Petrol, tolls, camping and entrance fee.
Then you have food and drink which is up to you how much you spend.

I know mate, but you never know!
Actually, I don’t know who goes each year!
I know you and Michael do, but who else?
Do you camp in Beaujour each time?
Yes please on the pics!

Marty
Theirs always been minimum of six of us,we’ve had ten before now.
But as you know it#s all down to the finance.
Beaujour is the camp site we’ve always used, because we also meet up with same buddies from the previous years.
Would be nice to get more people to go.
I will always go regardless, it’s one thing i’ve done for quite a few years now
Ive been around ten times now…but tbh Ive had enough of the regular lemans 24hr and the way its developed ie too many ■■■■■■■■■. Ive done the classic lemans a couple times in the past and imo that is the MUCH better petrol head event. Maison Blanc is our choice of campsite having tried most of them. My favourite crossing so far has to be Portsmouth to Le Havre…we took a detour down to the Normandy beaches and visited the main cemetery at “Omaha” beach, before chasing the b roads into Lemans.
My GTO has done the trip twice now and it really does do it easily. Boot space is limited, but not an issue when you’ve got a good convoy of cars. The first trip I took the gto on was the classic in 2012, along with a gt3, m12 gto, a few tvrs and a van…van much needed lol

Thing is Stuart
We go for the racing not the pissup’s
I get a pit pass & grand stand ticket each year to get the best out of the event
I had to miss Spa next weekend because of work commitment, but went to the opening round at Silverstone last weekend
I go for the cars…not the racing. The 24hr is rapidly getting boring, almost to the point of late 80’s btcc racing ie you knew who was going to win before the race even began.
We usually have grandstand passes…dont bother with pit lane for the 24hr, but deffo for the classic. The best part of the classic has to be the 60-70’s era…watching and hearing GT40’s and Ferrari’s battle it out again is far more entertaining then diesels and hybrids. Another upside to the classic, with it being in July, the weather is usually more dependable. Also the classic doesnt attract the loutish French, dutch or germans lol.
