I was doing my oil change yesterday and made a hash of putting the new filter on. Result - 3ish litres of Pro-S on the floor after pouring out from the incorrectly seated filter. Called Rob at about 4.30pm. Told him what had happened.
New filter and oil arrived and in my hands for 2pm today. Along with a new filter mount just in case I had cross-threaded my one.
Chalk another beer for Rob on the tally for when I see him next! I’ve lost count of the number of times he’s managed to help with random parts at short notice (my GTO is my daily driver so parts are always needed in a rush if it all goes pear-shaped).
Good to see you did not need the Filter Housing either…Phew…
The Empire is as many of you know more than just a business for me…It’s a passion
I love these cars as much as anyone else does and i will always help out people as much as i can, especially if they go out of their way to help others in this club.
Glad you got it sorted Andy…Your Carbon Foot Print is not good you know… and its spreading…oppps
I see what you mean about it not being easy to fit a new one of them (not your precise words but we’ll keep it clean out here). I’ll get that back to you asap.
In the long run I wamt to fit aftermarket oil temp and pressure gauges so there will be an adaptor plate going on there and staying on. And I’ll take just a wee bit more time over that part of the oil change.
It’s help that which you offer and I will gladly offer to others that makes me pleased to be part of this club. If it wasn’t for the advice and info here I think I would have chucked a rag into the petrol tank a long time ago.
As for my carbon foot print. - must be the size of Luxemburg by now. Between my Exxon Valdeez impression and having no environmentalist bits in my exhaust.
