Mk2 headlight condensation

This is getting right on my t#ts now. I’ve taken my headlights apart twice, and 3 times now on one side. On that side in particular I’ve installed brand new Silca gel packets, new sealant, and blocked the drainholes…yet I still get a bit of condensation! They have been drilled to accept side lights by a previous owner, however I’ve really tried my best to make them seal as best as possible to stop moisture. What else can it possibly be?!

Hi,

Un-block the drain holes and make sure they have the rubber u-bends attached to them. failing that you might have a crack somewhere.

Chris

did mine 3 times, followed thread to the letter and each time after a few days it returned,3rd time i left out silica bags and bunged up drain holes been good now for over 6 months

Mine were ok, then the weather got colder and wetter…■■■■■■ things are a nightmare! They are still alot better than when I first purchased the car, the inserts were pink…

Winter will be the true test for mine too
