I’m definitely up for going again this year (and starting to save my pennies for more drift experiences - last year once was definitely not enough!). Ray is also up for it. It would be great if there were more of us going this year … its really worth it.

"It is with great dissapointment that we have to announce that THE MODIFIED MADNESS SHOW 2011 HAS BEEN CANCELLED. This is due to circumstances totally out of our control is is solely down to THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE and in particular The Defence Estates who own the land. It is their view that “A Modified Car and Bike Show is NOT benificial to or in the best interests of the MOD”
This has been challenged by the Two Regiments on Thorney Island as they made a lot of money from the previous events, that benifitted both the regiments and the Local Community. The Defence Estates are having none of it and have CANCELLED THE EVENT refusing to issue us a license for using the land for the event.
Agree with you there - fine ■■■■■■ time to object … when its too late to find another venue. Plus the army guys had a brilliant time themselves last year. Its beyond me what the issue is about.
Think i’ll email the Modded guys see what they think of the MOD silly decision. As far as i could see the Army were more than happy to host the event and it was money in the pocket of their own charity . Does the MOD be-grudge that now to.
The fact it would be not costing the MOD a penny and even goes towards less overheads for them in the long term i guess their just thick!

well i got an email back from Rob , one of the two guys that organise it and he said its unlikely the MOD will change their minds . Also its left it too late as far as he can see to switch it anywhereby then.
Yep they are ultra peaved and are at a loss why the MOD left it so late to put a block on it knowing it was booked from the start of last years one.
Apparently it takes tons of organising to get everything together for certain dates ie fun fair drift team drag team etc etc etc.
