I’m looking to get a GTO…preferably a twin turbo. I have a budget of around £8,000 for the car and insurance. Can any1 give me an estimate on a GTO twin turbo for a 21 year old that has been drivin for two years with one years no claims & who would b the best insurers 2 go with?
I got an Import Twin Turbo when I was 20 with 2 years no claims and was paying ~£1800 with Tesco in a class A Postcode area (check which Postcode area you are in http://www.gtouk.org.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2750&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=insurance)
I think you’ll have to add 10% for only 1 year no claims.
But that should be a good approximation for you.

Hi Magilla,
I think your best bet is to thoroughly read through this section, making a note of phone numbers and websites and basically trawl through them.
I’ve said this before about insurance as it seems that you never seem to be able to get a quote that makes any sense. You’ll probably notice as you read through the posts somebody raving about a quote from a broker, then a following post by someone with a similar car, similar age and circumstances getting a rediculously high quote. Add to that ringing a company in the morning and them saying they wont insure you for some reason, then speeaking to someone else in the afternoon and getting a reasonable quote.
Good luck with the motor and dont forget a service and cambelt change as soon as you’ve bought it.

P.S. Getting a tracker fitted will sometimes knock a hell of a lot of money off the premium, and some brokers insist on them. Either way, they pretty much pay for themselves after a couple of years.
Ok Thanks guys…i’ll try tesco…I’ve also considered gettin a 95 chevolet camaro with classic insurance but I’d prefer a GTO. I’ve been lookin at a place called bonzai cars (404页面) which r based is Southampton. Theres a very nice white one i’ve got my eye on
