Hi guys bought my first GTO a couple of months ago as it was on ebay and told loss of compression on number 1 .
Stripped to find washer had been having a run around in cylinder so rebuilt both top ends to then find rod had spun on crank
Got a second hand bottom end ,rebuilt it and finally got engine running A1 and a full MOT on car this week
Now I think reading forums that my tcu has gone as sets off slow and no pulse readings on odb
Totally lost as how to proceed with tcu now and looking for advise as I usually play with classic cars (no electronics)
Car is a 1990 non turbo auto

I would try to get as many spares as you can even to the point if you can afford it of buying another complete car for parts, a lot of Gto problems require swapping parts. It seems extremely ott but in the long run will save you ££. I have learnt from my mistakes selling stuff I should have kept off cars or parts I have accumulated.
