*NB* There Will be No Shelf Stock T Shirts at the AGM

Thought this was worth a ‘heads up’ especially for those of you who have been to the AGM in the past and the Club has taken ‘stock’ T Shirts to buy there.

Things have changed, there will be no T. Shirt stock to buy there on the day.

Reason being - with the way the new improved Club Shop is set up, it is no longer necessary, you can basically still order online through the shop and PAY/Collect at the AGM.

What this means -

  1. Everyone these days loves online shopping but some prefer to pay cash at an event - this can now be done with Pre Order, no payment, with selected Collect and Pay at the event.

  2. GTOUK isn’t having to guess sizes for stock items, which may or may not get sold. Funds stay in the bank and are available for other Club subsidies provided.

But the purpose of this thread is to make you aware, you still need to order in the Shop and checkout (albeit without payment) with the option to Pay at Event selected in the shop to have your item available for collection at the AGM.

Does this not still put the club at some small fiancial risk, i.e you could order and have the shirts produced then not pay?

Just a thought.

Fair point, but, yes we have thought about that @gavin_naish, but although it isn’t impossible it is less likely than when the Club bought in 5 Medium, 5 Large, 5 X Large, 5 XX Large , in blue, Red, yellow, green etc etc, and hoped to sell them, second guessing who wants what.

You’d have to be a brave person to order and not collect, whereas buying stock, the onus was on the Club to sell, with Club funds eaten up in the meantime.

This way, maybe an occasional bad apple may come along, which we can look into, but not a wad of dead money sat waiting for sales.
