Hey dude welcome to the club, there is a whole load of stuff to look out for in the buyers guide on here that should help you find what to do, main one would be make sure water pump and belts etc have been done at 60k intervals.
The events season will soon be underway and things pop up all over the country. From Kent I think the closest to you might be @gsxr and his Essex meet every month.

Hi @thomas_beament welcome to GTOUK .

Good to hear your loving your ownership :sunglasses:

Butler has hit the nail on the head with the main one , cambelt is most important , make sure its been done ideally with receipts , if in doubt although its a big cost its worth having it changed for piece of mind , a slipped belt is a very expensive start to ownership and it has happened to more than a few over the years

Cambelt change should include belt , idler , tensioner water pump and t/stat

Good to have you onboard

Regards

Craig

Thanks for the warm welcome. I did have a read through the guide before I went to look at the car so hopefully I would have picked up on anything. Thankfully the engine just had an overhaul, new belts, seals, rings, u name it. That was aload of my mind. Does run like a dream. Looking forward to spending all my pennies on a few mods here and there.

Hi Thomas

Welcome to the club

I run a meet every month at the Haywain in Basildon which is well attended when it get a little warmer, but we still got 12 cars last month and it was a miserable night

I am also the largest GTO/3000GT Parts Specialist in Europe and i am only in Southend if you fancy a visit
There is always around 6 cars cars at mine most Saturday afternoons, you are welcome to pop down and just pay us a visit and we can also have a look over the car for you.

Look forward to meeting up with you soon

Cheers rob

Welcome dude.

You came to the right place. I joined here a few months ago when I was looking for my first and everyone was really helpful in my search. Since getting my car a couple of months ago this has to be one of the best car communities I have had the pleasure of being a part of.

And Rob above is a good bloke to know. What he doesn’t know about these cars isn’t worth knowing.

There is the GTOUK dyno day at Eurospec in Guildford coming up this Sunday which would be a good opportunity to meet a few of the members (that’s going to be my first meet). Even if you don’t run come along and see some the clubs cars!
