New GTO Owner

Hi Guys,
Just to introduce myself, I’m Bill from Fife in Scotland. Im going to Blackpool to pick up my GTO on Thursday…Exciting times!!! Hope to post some pictures when I get her home.

Welcome to GTOUK 8)

Welcome,
Hope all goes well on Thursday, and look forward to seeing pics of the car.

Thanks for the welcome guys, will be interesting to know if there are any Scots on the club. Maybe we’re too tight up here to run these things!

I have a Scotsman who is into 100K for his 3 GTO’s !!

I have loads of Scots customers and they are not skinflints, in fact the opposite !!

Welcome to the club ad i look forward to helping you in the future

Regards Rob

Welcome.

Hi there and welcome, plenty of pictures and posts please.

I hope all went well for you mate :?:

Hi Guys,
I got it, been too busy driving it around to post over the weekend. Needs a bit of tlc but I knew that b4 i bought it.
Ill post some pics tonight, it has a silver body and black roof, can anyone tell me it this is standard?
Everyrthing seems to work ok , little whine/ rumble from the rear and some knocking from the rear over low speed bumps, Once again, any ideas welcome. Wheels need refurb.
Will put up some pictures later

Bill.

Glad to hear it got you home,
I don’t think they did any two tone colours from factory but don’t know for sure. As for the mechanical problems whine and rumble could be wheel bearing, diff, prop related. knocking over bumps, exhaust, suspension, ball joints related. That’s my take on it any ways but more experienced owners can hopefully narrow it down for you.

Hi Bill

Do the wings have holes in the behind the back of the wheel arches by chance ??

Sounds like a customers car…

Cheers Rob

Hi guys,
Front or rear wings , Rob? I had a closer look at the paintwork on the roof, it’s been well done but not professionally done, I can see where it’s been cut in.
The slight whine seems to be diff related, (Between the rear seats). The knock i think is linkages or bushes. (I forgot there will be ball joints at the rear?).
And, success!!! I got it in the garage door. (although I had to fold the mirrors in)

Bill.

hello guys im new to this club. i drive a 92 gto twin turbo in red.

i was parked at work at halfords autocenters in hedge end when some one left a note to join this club. i am a mechanic at the auto centre ive had my gto since november 2013 getting it on the road was easy and a surprise … clean car = result.

the car has a history my granddad had it imported in 2006 and drove it very little. then i took over the restoration of the gto. any advise is welcome…

another cool thing is the number plate g19 gto… if u see it come say "hi’

I drive approx. 4 hours for all meets but thoroughly enjoy every one, well worth the travelling. Jonathan
