New GTO TT Owner

Hi All,

I just picked up my GTO! It’s been very well taken of by its previous owner, full engine and gearbox at Westfields, less than 2000 miles ago. I drove it back for over 100 miles and it did not miss a beat. Needs a few minor parts and jobs doing, I will be speaking with Rob shortly.

Will post some more pics once I clean her up. Very happy and excited fo finally be part of the GTO club, only waited 30 years :joy:.

Hi @CapAP

Welcome to GTOUK :+1:

Is that the car from the Isle of Wight?

Certainly looks good and hope you enjoy it.

Hi James, yes that’s the one! Has had alot of work done, booked it with the garage next week.

Other than westfields in Essex, are there any other specialists? In the cardiff or Bristol area?

Thank you Lara! Looking forward to the upcoming meets, I will check them out shortly.

Hi All, just wanted to provide a further update, my GTO is currently in performance autoworks, Fairfield (they have been awesome). It’s having a good amount of work done, include full oil service, all cambelts and water pump, also some items for the MOT due next week, such as new cooper brake lines. I should have it back home next week.

Kids went to sleep early this evening and I had some time to go through all the receipts. Including my most recent service above, the car has had easily over £26,000 spent on it over the last 16 years, with at least £18000 of that being in the last 6 years. I know this is all very boring, but thought at least someone would appreciate this …. :joy:

I cannot wait to get her back home, just need to find some time to drive. Will also plan to come to a future meet, just finding it tricky with work and family commitments.

You want CuproNickel (Kunifer) brake lines, never copper, just make sure that is what they are doing for you.

Thanks Luka! I just assumed they are copper, I am sure the Performance Autoworks team would put the right stuff on, but will check with them.
